Advance Auto parts is advertising that they accept EBT cards now.

Food stamps...at an autoparts store????!!!!!!!

The Electronic Benefits Transfer card is not just food stamps although that is how it is commonly envisioned.

If the person with the card qualifies for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), their TANF benefit is also on the card. TANF is the new welfare in that it is a CASH benefit and spends just like cash. So this portion of the EBT card can be used just like a bank debit card.

If you were receiving food stamps and not TANF, you could not use the EBT card to pay for a tattoo.

Actually that’s a good thing ,,, at least where I live you cannot work without a car and it would be terrible to lose a job because your alternator went out and you couldn’t pay for a replacement.
