A right-leaning group called Generation Opportunity has released what is probably the year’s most bananas set of political ads, aimed at turning young people against signing up for Obamacare. (Hat tip to Yahoo! News.) Here’s the version for the ladies:

Very Funny

Actually, the ad would’ve been more effective if, when the doctor said “Let’s have a look.”, the camera pulls wide to reveal a bunch of men in black suits and horn-rimmed glasses with clipboards (bureaucrats) filling the room straining over one another to “have a look.” That would be creepier.

Now that is effective, but artistically, they missed something really powerful, depending upon how far they want to go with it.

At the end of the ad, they should have cut to all the TV screens they had shown at the beginning, with that image of Uncle Sam and the girl, watching him approach her, bending down to do his "work." Now, here's where it has the potential to get nasty and I understand why they might not want to go this far...

She resists. Uncle Sam calls an orderly. She is forced to submit.

As I said, "depending upon how far they want to go with it." I know that the idea has the potential to get rather graphic, but this is not a joke.

I think they kept it simple. Worked off the built in ‘creepy clown factor’ so many young people have. Don’t think the young people (the target of this ad) have the same aversion to ‘men in black’ that older people who have worked around bureaucracies have.

They do have the fear of being watched.
