Reid Statement On Republicans’ Vote To Deny Nutrition Assistance To Hungry Americans
United States Senate Democrats ^ | Sep 19, 2013 | Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

Posted on 09/19/2013 4:17:37 PM PDT by mdittmar

Washington, DC – Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today:

“House Republicans’ vote to deny nutrition assistance to hungry, low-income Americans is shameful. The Senate will never pass such hateful, punitive legislation.

“Under the leadership of Chairwoman Stabenow, the Senate forged a bipartisan compromise that saves $23 billion without taking food out of the mouths of hungry Americans. Whenever the House gets serious about passing real legislation, they should follow the lead set by Chairwoman Stabenow.”

Doesn’t spending legislation have to originate in the House?

According to this, the House version cuts $40 billion, the Senate version cuts $4 billion and the two bills must be reconciled.

They wouldn’t be caught dead in a Walmart. They have no idea what it’s really like out here........and they don’t care.

Hey Harry, drug test every welfare/food stamp recipient on a regular basis. If they can afford drugs they don’t need taxpayer money!!!!

Demand they clean up the fraud before funding it further.
Keep cutting it every year until they do.

The last straw for me was paying nearly $4 per gallon and seeing a sticker on the pump that said “EBT accepted”.
