As Freedom Destroys Itself: Laws can’t protect a society that has lost its way.
The National Review ^ | September 20, 2013 | Gov. Sarah Palin

Posted on 09/20/2013 7:27:07 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

All of us were horrified by the murders at the Washington Navy Yard this week. Once again, in the aftermath of a shooting, a new installment of the debate about gun laws has broken out. But what we really need is a new discussion about what kind of people we are and what kind of country we want to be.

It’s no secret which side I’m on in any debate involving the Second Amendment (or the whole Constitution, for that matter). We call Alaska America’s Last Frontier, and firearms are a big part of our lifestyle here because they are part of our frontier tradition. And, as I tell my daughters, the ability to use a firearm responsibly and to defend yourself is also part of our heritage as American women.

The iconic musket over the fireplace wasn’t just for the menfolk on the frontier. Those stalwart women who crossed oceans and wilderness to settle our country knew how to protect themselves and their families. (One of my favorite scenes in the miniseries John Adams is when Abigail Adams, alone with her children in besieged Massachusetts while her husband is away at the Continental Congress, shoulders the family musket to protect her little ones when she hears the distant sounds of battle. That’s our heritage, ladies.)

Hunting is an integral part of our lifestyle in the 49th state. Using guns isn’t just recreation for us; it’s how many of us get our dinner.....

.....We also need to realize that ALL illnesses come from the “enemy” the devil . That includes mental illness.

“And that is the wrong question. The question we should be asking is: “What can we do to nurture and support a people capable of living in freedom?”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Obviously the people who have taken over this country in a coup have exactly the opposite goal, they only want to know how best to convince people that slavery is freedom.

Anyone who thinks otherwise should explain how they think that the best way to nurture a people capable of living in freedom is to take away the last vestige of freedom. It is like telling your children that they will not be allowed near the water until they learn to swim.

The mentally ill are FAR from being neglected in this country. They are prescribed all kinds of medications to worsen their condition and then, when their capacity to reason is proven to be nonexistent, they are elected or appointed to high office. Lest anyone should doubt my evaluation I offer two words, Pelosi and Biden. Many others could be added but I believe those two are sufficient, should you ask for one from my own state I offer Lindsey Graham.

“Suppose you were an idiot, and suppose you were a member of Congress; but I repeat myself.”

“Dan Quayle was RIGHT!”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
One of the most absurd things about the current situation is that Dan Quayle is STILL being ridiculed as if he were as big an idiot as Nancy Pelosi and the ridicule is being done by those who have less intelligence than a potatoE. When evaluating intelligence I often ask myself who I would rather have on my side when the SHTF and I certainly would rather have a man like Dan Quayle than any of those I have heard making fun of his spelling. I would rather have “Jon Stewart” and his ilk AGAINST me than for me.

Some very well intended Christian politicos have let themselves be cowed into keeping their sentiments sub-gospel because the chorus of crows (no pun or reference intended to you) out there are going to screech “you’re turning the state into a church.” No they’re not. Romans 13 tells among other things how the governor has the right to commend what is right. The gospel is right and the governor has every right to commend it but that doesn’t mean the governor orders everyone to believe it. (It is God that orders everyone to believe it and has put that into the scope of pastors and NOT of governors.) Don’t be shy, governors.

The bias (to evil!) of the modern world is so apparent here. If it was actually in some sincere exercise of evenhandedness, Quayle would get a very kind treatment overall, with a few footnotes about the potatoe and perhaps similar affairs.

Since the current federal administration ignores the law anyway, what difference does it make?

” - - - the real problem: The neglect of the mentally ill. - - - - “

Not so. The Democrats have a POS Imposter in the White House who is mentally ill, and he is pampered, not neglected.

Zer0 is a "POS Imposter in the White House who is mentally ill, and he is pampered, not neglected."

Q.E.D., quod erat demonstrandum.

Zer0 ran with bomber Bill Ayers, hung with the Black Gangster Disciples, had fellowship with Rev. "U.S. of KKKA" Jeremiah Wright, helped his cousin Rail Odinga overturn an election in Kenya and transform Kenya into Sharia law and supported the Arab Spring. The goes on. If Zer0 is not a psychopath, he is at least a narcissist. He is the Great Destroyer.
