Psst, did amnesty just die?
Legal Insurrection ^ | 9/20/13 | William Jacobson

Looks like the chance of ”comprehensive immigration reform” (a/k/a amnesty) passing the House just got a little less.

From Greg Sargent at WaPo, In blow to immigration reform, House `gang of seven’ bill looks dead

"In a blow to the hopes of passing immigration reform anytime soon, the bipartisan House “gang of seven” plan is probably dead, and almost certainly won’t be introduced this fall as promised, a top Democrat on the “gang” acknowledges.

“It doesn’t appear that we’re going to move forward with the group of seven,” Dem Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a key player on immigration as a member of the gang, said in an interview with me. “The process is stalled. I don’t believe we’re going to produce a bill anytime soon.”

Illegals are still here and more are coming every day with little fear of deportation.

Sounds like de-facto amnesty to me.

Amnesty is failing, because the American economy is failing.

Because America is sending all our jobs overseas.

Frankly if we would hire people, we would be in a position to bring more people into the country.

WAKE UP PEOPLE.

This is what happens, when we offshore all our jobs.

################################

You make it sound like it is the fault of employers that jobs are going overseas. This ignores the real cause of that effect.

The real cause is the ever-increasing government taxation and regulation of employers in every aspect of their business.

The jobs aren’t being sent overseas by the employers, they are being pushed out by Govco.

Until you deal with the root issue, the symptoms are going to keep getting worse. And soon the patient will die.

Amnesty never dies - it just gets postponed.

This is what the senate should have done...but the gang of 8 went to the end even after the bill was loaded with all kinds of shi’ite. While SOME parts of the bill may have been debatable the end result was a disaster. An insult.

Marco Rubio (and some others, notably Paul Ryan in the House as well) totally blew this one, he'll never be the same. What a total fool he made of himself over this stupid bill.

“Gee! Think about it. Government schooling, with up to $30,000/kid/year, is driving businesses out of the country and putting people out of work!”

In Tallahassee the city owns the utility company. Corporations like where I worked in ‘97 had a “special” rate. It was $30,000 per month. Translating the bill to my personal rate it would have been about $7,000. The difference is a hidden tax on companies who don’t vote. Only a third of my property tax, call it $500, went toward schools. But, obviously, if they’re spending $28,000 per student and nobody is paying more than a third of their property tax to schools, then somebody is making up the difference. But, amazingly, the city tried on several occasions to run my company out of town. The local university finally bought the building at such a large price the company decided to leave. That building has been empty now for five years. Talk about stupidity squared.

So Marco Rubio threw his career in the toilet for nothing.

With the way shopkeepers around here neglect Americans in favor of the poor downtrodden foreigner with his credit card that doesn’t work, areher pushing her way into the express line with a cart full of stuff, their insisting that if we don’t peak their language there’s something we’re doing wrong, I’ll tke the defacto amnesty over promises of our caving even further, forgetting we even have any kind of sovereignty, pretending we’re bad people.

Maybe the bishops pushing for this will take time off and sit and review the Catechism and find out how misguided they

Falling poll numbers for Bambi, their incompetence and sheer arrogance showing through the MSM haze, random journalism that has been showing their incompetence, did I mention their incompetence? I also think people are tired of Bambi's divisive act, and they are tuning out now.

Finally, the apparent stiffening of the backbone in the House GOP.

I think there is a break in the force............Apologies for the Star Wars metaphor.........

Marco Rubio is the same, people’s perception of him will never be the same. They thought he was wonderful because he said he was wonderful and because he speaks without saying UH, duh, um, and without a teleprompter.

It didn’t matter what he was saying, he said it so well. Any woman over the age of forty knows where that gets you... Amnesty, and whatever else this guy falls for (Shumer & Co played him like a fiddle)

He apparently did, and it's a shame.

It will take him the better part of five or six years to get his creds back, and it might not entirely happen IMHO.

We shall see.

It is still there. Like the queen bee in The Swarm, it is still alive, dragging herself out of the dead bees, living to breed again and come back stronger, more powerful and deadlier than before.

Forgotten...but not gone.

John Carter was taken behind the barn and given an old fashion butt spanking at a local Tea Party sponsored, well attended by illegals, town hall... The meeting lasted five hours, limited by room availability, and still all of the people were not heard...

This was held in fly over Central Texas (Salado)...

At the most recent Tea Party meeting, one of his aides was in attendance and she took home an earful also...

But we must remember the Tea Party movement is dead, dead, dead..../s

Dan Benishek gave a town hall meeting in August, well attended. Lots of conservatives there (tea types), there was a line out the door and it was standing room only. He got lots of applause for his stand on illegals, plus an earful about the defunding issue.

He's listening, doing the right thing, and I like that. I called his office yesterday to give him some encouragement.

Please read my post #20.

Government kills businesses through by way of thousand little cuts.

I quit! I am an Atlas Shrugged and my husband is too and so are the jobs we created.

OK I read your post.

All I can say is congratulations, China is now America’s equal in international trade, and growing.

What exactly do you suppose is going to happen, as China grows, and America shrinks?

Do you actually believe (anything) about America becomes stronger?

Is everyone sleeping in this country, right now?

I think so.

Let’s hope that is the case – but now the focus should be on ridding ourselves of the Trainwreck of Obamacare.

BTW, did anyone see this:

Truckers To Shut Down America
https://www.facebook.com/truckerstoshutdownamerica

The American people are sick and tired of the corruption that is destroying America! We therefore declare a GENERAL STRIKE on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013! Truck drivers will not haul freight! Americans can strike in solidarity with truck drivers!
