Everybody hates Ted Cruz: The most unpopular man in Congress!
Salon ^ | September 20, 2013 | Joan Walsh

Posted on 09/21/2013 10:19:18 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The wheels are coming off the clown car that is the modern Republican Party. House and Senate GOP leaders are sniping at each other, on Twitter and, even more nastily, via their congressional aides. And no one’s been more vilified than the junior senator from Texas, Ted Cruz. Not even Barack Obama, for a change.

Cruz has defiantly led his party down the dead-end path of demanding that Democrats agree to defund Obamacare in exchange for Republicans’ voting to keep funding the government. Polls find even Republicans don’t like that idea, and so a few GOP politicians are asking what Cruz’s endgame is. And when Cruz said he knew Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid wouldn’t let such a bill pass the Senate, and suggested it was all up to House Republicans, the knives came out.

Actual House Republicans attacked Cruz under their own names. Arkansas’ Tim Griffin tweeted, “so far Sen Rs are good at getting Facebook likes, and townhalls, not much else. Do something.” Wisconsin’s Sean Duffy likewise tweeted, “House agrees to send #CR to Senate that defunds Obamacare. @SenTedCruz & @SenMikeLee refuse to fight. Wave white flag and surrender.”

Rep. Paul Ryan told Politico in an interview, not via Twitter, that hostility to Cruz and other Senate GOP extremists is “pretty palpable in our conference, I would say. You mean about how they’re saying we’re not going to fight, and back at you, we’re not going to fight but forget about what we said earlier? Yeah, there’s a bit of frustration. … We all believe the same thing, we all want to achieve the same goal, and so we shouldn’t be questioning each other’s conservatism over tactical disagreements.”(continued)

If you love freedom and traditional American principles you love Cruz.
If you are a big government political elite, greedy for personal power, control, and wealth at the expense of We The People then surely you would hate Cruz.

Yep, Ted Cruz, with the help of the TEA PARTY, other conservatives and even the libertarians et al, has thrown the gloves down It’s time to fight, and it’ll be a fight to the death. We will either have a conservative, constitutional REPUBLICAN PARTY or we won’t have a republican party at all. This fight reminds me of the fight they had in 1850, concerning the WHIG party. That was the birth of the REPUBLICAN PARTY. At that time, the WHIG party became the party of COMPROMISE & CONCILIATION, just as what we have with this republican party of today. If we don’t have that fight now, we’ll never get back our sanity.

Cruz is leading. I know that is a strange concept among many GOP on the hill. They are also missing the point. What this offers is an opportunity to align themselves as defenders of the working class and the youth who are losing jobs/hours and benefits due to this bad health care law. If the GOP can’t find some of these victims of Obamacare and use them to make the case for the need for them to stand their ground against the funding of Obamacare then they are worthless.

Instead of this sniping by those who just want to quietly acquiesce to the reality of Obamacare in hopes that they may be able to “fix” it there should be a clear united message that Obamacare is bad and is hurting the economy and hurting real people in lost jobs and lost benefits. Even if some disagree with strategy they should be focused on damning Obamacare and driving its and the President’s negatives through the roof related to it. Win or lose this is an opportunity to make a statement and to whip up opposition to this bad law in preparation for this fall’s elections and 2014.

If I were Cruz I’d arrange a meeting with big union leadership and hit the President from his own territory.
Rank and file union members are angry about the changes Obamacare is forcing on them and now is the time to channel that anger. This whole debate is a good one and it is one that can be used to focus public attention and sabotage the msm planned endless propaganda that they will be spewing as Obamacare takes effect on OCT 1.

everyone? Cruz is just 1 vote

Maybe so. But their bigger fear is he could become the next president. And THAT scares the sh!t out of them.

I love Ted!!

The argument that people should fold because votes may or may not be there, is pretty pathetic!

Only reason that Republicans have always been blamed for govt shut downs or possible shutdowns, is because the media says so.

Am afraid that the MSM still rules the minds of the majority, whatever they say seems to be taken as the truth by the mindless masses

Hey the mindless masses sit in front of their TV’s and watch whatever trashy Hollywood sitcom is put in front of them, there is not much hope

Bravo, Stupid Party, Bravo. You've managed to fall into the exact distraction-trap that the Democrats designed for you: Instead of the country talking about the horrific Obamacare-rollout in less than weeks... everybody's fixated on the Republican "Civil War" (and golly, who could've seen that coming? It's not like the Dems and the MSM don't do this every single time...)

This is why you lose elections, you morons.

Not really. There are approved hate groups like the NAACP and Move On and then there are unapproved hate groups, like the NRA, Tee Party and any other group that disagrees with the Dems.

Two bills must be passed for the government to spend money, an appropriation bill and an authorization bill. Not completely sure how this would work in the case of selling bonds but it would seem that an authorization bill would be required or the funds would go to the Treasury, not to some specific program(s).

I am so amused how the loony left is shooting at Cruz so early! His plan is genius..he is drawing them out of the woodwork. They have gone from hissy fit alert to Def-Con seizure mode! What is the left going to do after these hysterics? They’re pretty much using up their fireworks early in the game. The media attempts to slam and smear Sarah Palin worked in the MSM,,but I don’t think that tactic is going to be as effective as Cruz. He seems to rather enjoy it.

“This article was written on Friday. Since then, and covered by the Texas media, is the critical letter to Cruz from the Texas GOP House delegation. “

Oh my. I must have a word with the Texas GOP House delegation. Do you have any more info on this letter?

Not true again. The House has agreed to fund everything in government except ObamaCare. The democrats have to decide if they're going to close down the government.
