Kermit Gosnell, the 72 year-old Philadelphia abortionist who was found guilty of murder and involuntary manslaughter in May, has said he is spiritually innocent, and believes he has performed a noble function in society.
Gosnell contends he is innocent of the charges against him, laying out complicatedand not particularly crediblereasons he should have been found not guilty. When Volk asked him if he was actually referring to his own sense of spiritual innocence, Gosnell responded, Yes.
According to Steve Volt, a journalist who covered his trial and has corresponded with him since he entered prison, Gosnell sees abortion as sinful on some level, but a lesser sin than a child being born into a life of poverty.
Volts new article, Gosnells Babies appears in Philadelphia magazine this coming week and will be part of a new e-book.
Gosnell ran the Womens Medical Society in West Philadelphia for decades until February 2010 when his clinic was raided by the FBI for evidence of a prescription pill mill.
What was discovered instead was reported in an almost 300 page grand jury report, released the following year, that described an abortion clinic with filthy conditions including bloody floors and bags of fetal remains stored in freezers. The report indicated that the facility had undergone no inspections for years.

Him and Nancy Pelosi.
I hope he still thinks he’s done a noble and moral thing when old Satan is flaying the skin from his body and roasting his balls like a couple of marshmallows.
Does selling one’s soul to the devil cause one to believe that any act, no matter how evil, is good and noble? Whatever that monster is suffering now is nothing next to what he will suffer when he goes to join the object of his worship.
I just can’t imagine what life is like for a psychopath—being unable to empathize, being able to cause torment without any twinge of conscience or any understanding of the pain one inflicts. That is as foreign to my experience as anything I can imagine.
He NEEDS to repent!
I’m sure Hitler and Stalin thought that what they were doing was “right”, too.
But even their victims had somewhat of an opportunity to justify their existences; Gosdell’s did not.
Sounds like he would make a great scientologist.
Everyone appears right in their own eyes, without realizing that their own perception of the world is flawed. Who is to say a child does not really want to live just because they might have to live in poverty?
Or sticks a pitchfork up his butt.
The way I argue with pro-aborts is to point out when your dog is old and in pain you have it put to sleep, so it dies quietly and painlessly. So why don’t people do something similar to unborn children? The abortion industry was concocted by satanists so that the babies die in the most horribly painful manner possible. It’s a sacrifice to their lord satan.
I could go on about satanic rituals involving unborn children but I’m already too upset...
You will stand before CHRIST and then you will know the truth.
Lock up Gosnell, melt down the key, throw away the blob of metal.
Just like the old Soviet Union> To preserve and prolong the revolution, Comrade, you must die!
