"Florida’s revolt is the ultimate refutation of the Common Core control freaks’ claim that this scheme was bottom-up, state-led, and locally supported.

What say you, Jeb?"

“Federal government has no constitutional authority to unilaterally set academic standards for Florida.”

It is true.

I love it. Take that JEB! We pulled our kids out of Connecticut’s public school system. They are now studying US History instead of...wait for it....wait for it... the middle east?

And I hope that Charlie Crist (now democrat, former republican governor and senate candidate endorsed by John Cornyn) doesn’t get elected governor again to but Common Core back into place.

All the schemes of these people are insidious!

Well done Gov. Scott! However, be advised that this does not rescind the implementation of CC in FL YET.

Crist works for Morgan and Morgan ambulance chasers and they had a fund raiser for Obama here before the election. They are definitely going to have some big money behind them but so will Rick Scott.

BWAHHAAHAA!!

Guess what, Leftists? Our side can govern by executive order, too.

The difference is, we use them to maintain freedoms. YOU use them to remove them.

I had the honor of receiving a telephone call from Mr. Clavell back in the 1980’s when I was active in politics and tried to expose the brainwashing going on in our public schools. I also recommend: A Nation At Risk, a national report that I had the honor of helping with when Reagan was in office and Terrell Bell was Secretary of Education.

The funny thing is if you actually read the standards many of them go back to things that were taught over 50 years ago. Don't flame me. I teach and I don't like HOW the standards are crammed down our throats. But some of the ideas are not bad. In fact they should be utilized, like thinking skills, but it is the stupid hand of the federal government that is screwing this up. It should be state run and initiated. The feds. have no constitutional role in education. Of course the constitution is dead letter law under Obama.

From “A Nation At Risk”

“...All, regardless of race or class or economic status, are entitled to a fair chance and to the tools for developing their individual powers of mind and spirit to the utmost. This promise means that all children by virtue of their own efforts, competently guided, can hope to attain the mature and inform ed judgement needed to secure gainful employment, and to manage their own lives, hereby serving not only their own interests but also the progress of society itself.

Our Nation is at risk. Our once unchallenged preeminence in commerce, industry, science, and technological innovation is being overtaken by competitors throughout the world. This report is concerned with only one of the many causes and dimensions of the problem, but it is the one that undergirds American prosperity, security, and civility. We report to the American people that while we can take justifiable pride in what our schools and colleges have historically accomplished and contributed to the United States and the well-being of its people, the educational foundations of our society are presently being eroded by a rising tide of mediocrity that threatens our very future as a Nation and a people. What was unimaginable a generation ago has begun to occur—others are matching and surpassing our educational attainments. If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war. As it stands, we have allowed this to happen to ourselves. We have even squandered the gains in student achievement made in the wake of the Sputnik challenge. Moreover, we have dismantled essential support systems which helped make those gains possible. We have, in effect, been committing an act of unthinking,
unilateral educational disarmament...”

Jeb = Pigface bastard scumbag.

Common Core is only one part of the liberal agenda he foisted.

Look up "Sawgrass Rebellion," where he robbed homesteaders, landowners and farmers of thousands of acres of private property - at the behest of his buddies in real estate, sugar agri-corps and the enviro-goon movement. The green commies loved pig-face.

Those who didn't cooperate were flooded out of their homes, bullied or had their property values destroyed by the entire mess.

I wish I was exaggerating, but I'm not. In fact I'm understating the disaster.

Jeb supports Common Core. Jeb present Hillary with a Freedom award (Jeb, you couldn't find someone else?) Jeb's committing political suicide, thank God.

Stay out da' Bushes. No more, the nation won't survive a 3rd Bush.
