A western Pennsylvania school board won't let a student who was born female but identifies as male run for homecoming king.
The Richland School Board didn't rule on Kasey Caron's request Monday night, but simply let stand an earlier decision by school administrators, which leaves the 17-year-old senior on the ballot for homecoming queen.
"No formal action is required due to the board agreeing with the previous decision of the administration," board Solicitor Timothy Leventry said, reading from a statement.
The student's mother, Kathy Caron, said she was disappointed by the board's action.
"My heart sunk a little," Kasey said.
Kasey's driver's license has been switched from female to male, but Leventry has previously said that Pennsylvania law requires a person born female to have a physician certify a sex-change operation and have the birth certificate changed to legally be considered male.

Sex ed 101: If a human has a penis, it is male and will use the mens room. If a human has a vagina, it is female and will use the ladies room.
If the human was born with both, it is free to choose which sex it wants to identify with.
Really, it’s pretty simple.

If it wants to be recognized as a male, it needs to produce a physician's certificate confirming they've had addadicktome surgery.

Prediction: The student body, steeped in political correctness since first being exposed to The Disney Channel at age two, is going to go ahead and award the crown to IT anyway.
It will become a “heartwarming” national story, gaining them all fawning adoration and media fame. It will eventually be made into a Lifetime Movie of the Week.
Guessing it’s jewelry. A search for pix of him/her/it shows “he” has—broad, manly shoulders? Not so much!

Unrelated story:
In my town, the local high school football team had a girl place kicker one year. She kicked the extra points and a guy kicked kick-offs and field goals.
At homecoming, she was crowned homecoming queen. Both King and Queen were wearing football uniforms.
And in this game, she scored more points than the losing visitors on homecoming night, as she kicked several extra points and, I believe, a short field goal.
So our homecoming Queen outscored the other team.
Pretty cool. Our team is tough.
