Sen. Ted Cruz is responding to the news that some of his GOP colleagues wanted Chris Wallace to hammer him in an interview, with the Texas Republican saying that they are afraid of anything that changes the clubby way Washington does business.
I mean folks can do whatever they want to resist change, and there are a lot of people that have been in Washington a long time that are fearful of change. Theyre fearful of risk, theyre fearful of anything that changes the clubby way Washington does business, Cruz said Monday on Fox News Hannity.
After an interview with Cruz aired on Fox News Sunday, Wallace said he received unsolicited research and questions from Republicans after a week of criticism toward Cruz and the strategy to defund Obamacare. This has been one of the strangest weeks Ive ever had in Washington, and I say that because as soon as we listed Ted Cruz as our featured guest this week, I got unsolicited research and questions not from Democrats, but from top Republicans who to hammer Cruz, Wallace said.
Wallaces reveal led Sarah Palin to respond via Twitter, saying the names of those Republicans should be released. Meanwhile, Cruzs Senate colleague Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) also came to Cruzs defense Monday calling it very disturbing that Republicans provided information about Cruz to Wallace.
I would be very curious. I would love to know who those names are. I found that very disturbing. I found it very surprising. And sure, I would love to know who those names are, Lee said during an appearance on Fox Newss On the Record.

The dried up old b@stards of the GOP rear their ugly heads again.
Have to say, I wasn’t so keen on Cruz until now. See, they say you can judge a man both by his friends and by his enemies and if people like that fat turd Karl Rove hate him then he must be my kind of guy!
I’m more open to supporting Cruz right now than I was five minutes ago.
Frankly, I don’t believe Wallace here. IMO he said all this to increase his audience, and stir up more trouble for the Republican Party. I don’t know any Wallace people that are or ever have been Republicans. As usual, the Repubs fall for every Democrat trick in the book.
Lets name a few. McConnell, McAlqueda, Miss Lindsay, Cornyn. Who am I leaving out?
Corker.
Rove. The POS that probably delivered the material to him for his spot on Wallace’s show.
This episode reflects poorly on Senator Cruz’ detractors, not on him.
RINO’sseeking favorable kudos from Dems and media. Fools think they will get it.
Boehner, Cantor, Ryan, King for starters in the House.
RINOs have behaved this way since before Barry Goldwater was nominated.
Most politicians are professional grifters, not patriots and statesmen.
We don’t need anonymous republican sources to tell us there is a movement among the GOPe types to undermine Cruz. There are plenty enough on the record.
Chris Wallace needs to name names, or SHUT UP! He said, she said! TIRED of it!
Rove did look kind of red faced when Wallace mentioned it.
I just heard on the radio that Cruz is engaged in a filabuster right now which he will continue “until I drop”.
RE: I just heard on the radio that Cruz is engaged in a filabuster right now which he will continue until I drop.
It is technically not a filibuster. see here:

Filibuster, schmilibuster. It’s dramatic. And I’m for Ted.
BTW, how could “Mr. Smith” engage in a filibuster? He was a member of the HOUSE, not the Senate?

Jimmy Stewart’s character, Mr. Smith was a senator.

Excerpt:
The governor of an unnamed western state, Hubert “Happy” Hopper (Guy Kibbee), has to pick a replacement for recently deceased U.S. Senator Sam Foley. His corrupt political boss, Jim Taylor (Edward Arnold), pressures Hopper to choose his handpicked stooge, while popular committees want a reformer, Henry Hill.
The governor’s children want him to select Jefferson Smith (James Stewart), the head of the Boy Rangers. Unable to make up his mind between Taylor’s stooge and the reformer, Hopper decides to flip a coin. When it lands on edge and next to a newspaper story on one of Smith’s accomplishments he chooses Smith, calculating that his wholesome image will please the people while his naïveté will make him easy to manipulate.
Thanks for the correction. Then the movie should have been called SENATOR Smith goes to Washington. MR. is a title generally reserved for Congressmen.
Here’s the difference between the gutless, balless, no-account cowards in the neo-con GOP and Cruz and the Tea Party:
