If people quit smoking government will lose a lot of money in taxes. They need to shut that down right away.

Regulate (for the government) = collect more taxes, raise prices, and tell who can use them or not

One of those ‘for the children’ things.
E-cigs are the newest drug delivery system, donchaknow.

Children should not be buying them, but shouldn’t they already be regulated the same way?

although not pipe tobacco, cigars or e-cigarettes.

Notice how they left out their own personal vices....

what's to them if people put a silly electronic stick in their mouths?....its not harming anyone at all, and its far better than regular smoking....

again.....follow the money....they can't loose their tax money from cigs....

You don’t “smoke” e-cigarettes. There’s no smoke — just vapour. You get the nicotine fix; but you don’t get any of the dangerous products of combustion, you get from smoke.

Did you read what I posted? I am saying the government wants to go after e-cigarettes because it reduces the number of cigarettes people buy. They make lots of money off people who buy cigarettes.

Oh please regulate us. (so that our tobacco sales revenue doesn't nose-dive!)

Ok so if formulators use nicotine from eggplant sources rather than tobacco then this argument for Fed regulation collapses. Sucking down anything into the lungs is not a good thing. But E-Cigs and vaping are 500% less damaging than sucking down tobacco.

So this is one instance where an alternative to 'analog' cigarettes should not be regulated into the void.

With no scientific evidence that e-cigarettes are harmful, government again sees an opportunity to TAX and REGULATE.

With this administration I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they charged e-cig makers with tax evasion

FDA could just rule that e-cigarettes are a nicotine replacement product. They already have control over nicotine patches, lozenges and gum.

First I want to make it clear I do not think children should be buying either form.

If the electronic cigarette delivers nicotine, an age restriction is appropriate. If it releases a flavored vapor, then no, not unless there are known health risks other than it could be used it as a “drug delivery system.” Brownies anyone? Betty Crocker and the Pillsbury Doughboy should be doing hard time already.

Right after the 0 says he is going to tack on another 94 cent tax to cigarettes. What a surprise!
