If you had told someone in the 1950s that, in about two generations, homosexuality would largely be normalized and faux (same-sex) marriage would be gaining widespread approval, they’d have called you crazy. Never, ever under the stars and stripes. Why, pugnacious pundit Bill O’Reilly himself opined as recently as 10 to 15 years ago that faux marriage would never be accepted in America. Ah, what a difference a decade makes in the (mis?)information age, where ideas can be transmitted worldwide at a button’s touch.
I can’t tell you exactly when I knew faux marriage would gain traction — not in terms of date and time, anyway — but suffice it to say it was at least as soon as I heard the idea uttered by some obscure academic or activist on society’s fringes. As for homosexuality, there were some sagacious souls who realized decades ago that it would eventually be accepted. How? The same way a few of us knew in high school, almost instinctively, that our education paled in comparison to that of previous generations: trajectory. If you know an asteroid’s trajectory, you can predict not only where it was years ago, but where it will be in the future. And so it is with cultural trajectory.
Yet if I say that our current cultural trajectory — a bizarre trek that has caused us to boldly go where no American had gone before — has as a point on its arc the acceptance of pedophilia, I’m sure I’ll hear “never, ever under the stars and stripes!”

Of course. It's inevitable once you make the argument that it's not fair to judge gays because they didn't choose to be gay. If you accept that argument then it's equally unfair to judge pedophiles or necrophiliacs or any perversion really.
Sure, initially you start with jolly gays elfs like Perez Hilton and Harvey Firestone and Ellen Degenerous the like and say "oh, what's the harm? Besides, they didn't choose to be that way!" Then you move on to something previously unthinkable such as male prom queens and America cheers. The bar just keeps lowering.

Somewhere along the line, speaking out against these things will become illegal. We are already well on the way to that.

My guess is that polygamy will be accepted and legalized before our culture decays to the point of accepting pedophilia. Both parents working, widespread divorce, single mothers, the sexual revolution, pornography, Every kind of vulgarity, abortion, gangs, drugs, ...we’ve been racing to our destruction head on. Our children will become one more object of our self-gratification, not a big step from abortion.
I’ve been saying this since long before this article. It is just common sense.
Well worth the read. But this is another trend that cannot be stopped in isolation, as the article itself admits. It’s part and parcel of our rapid cultural rot.
PC did this. It is the singular evil that demanded NOTHING be ‘wrong’, that no one is ‘judged’, that feeling good is paramount and morals are relative and cruel.
If you can’t use the word WRONG, and have cultural standards, but must give lip service to every-and any-thing, it stands to reason that ALL perversions must be accepted. Otherwise someone will be made to ‘feel bad’. To allow the small evil is to feed the larger. PC is self-censorship. Once you’re trained to shut up, it becomes more difficult to speak out on anything.
