Uhh, the ACA`s funding falls under mandatory appropriations, even in a govt. “shutdown” which we all know never really shuts down, and will not be defunded as much as the GOP could defund Medicade/Care or Social SEcurity.

Uh, no it doesn’t. The house has total constitutional control over spending.

I understand, but your adherence to Constitutional values are not theirs` anymore. By theirs` I mean both parties except for a few individuals . Nor has it been for over a generation.

“On July 29, 2013, Congressional Research Service outlined the “potential effects of a funding lapse and related government shutdown on the implementation” of the ACA. The CRS found that, if the government were to shut down, funding for the ACA would continue. The CRS report, summarized by Coburn’s office here, finds that the federal government would be able to rely on sources of funding other than annual discretionary appropriations to support implementation (such as multiple-year and no-year discretionary appropriations still available for mandatory funds) and that agencies may continue to perform certain activities under the Antideficiency Act, which generally prohibits operations in the absence of appropriations.”

From the CRS report:

What About Obamacare Implementation Funding From Other Sources?

“The Administration’s FY2014 budget requested $1.4 billion in new funds for CMS Program Management for ongoing ACA implementation activities, plus an additional $400 million for the IRS to administer ACA’s tax-related provisions, including the premium tax credits. In the event that congressional appropriators do not provide any of these funds, or in the event of a temporary lapse in discretionary appropriations that results in a government shutdown, it seems likely that the Administration will continue to rely on alternative sources of funding to support ACA implementation activities.”

http://www.coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?a=Files.Serve&File_id=1933ce98-a8cf-48bc-af5c-b222c18fcb1d

So, Reid could do nothing to stop Cruz from speaking for a few hours which in the end will would not stop cloture since Reid knew both parties were on his side since they are both Ssatist/neo-marxist.

The USA is a post-post Constitutional Republic.

Solution, politically probably none, unless a serious 3rd party emerges .
Most likely, end of reserve usd status, immediate 1 week permanent crash, 20% interest rates and default.

Well, at this particular moment in time, our only hope is that the house holds firm. We need to do all we can to urge them to hold the line. Today, tomorrow, next day, etc. Forming a third party would be waaaay too late in this current battle. We’re in the middle of a battle right now and like it or not, we must use the tools at our disposal.

In other words, Rush is calling for Obamacare to simply collaspe in itself.

I think he was saying that none of these big government programs that should have collapsed by now have, you know.....collapsed. He's saying they'll find a way to keep it afloat just like they did with Social Security, Medicare, and every other government ponzi scheme.

Can you please explain how one session of Congress is bound by the actions of a previous session of Congress.

It only took collective farms 80 years to collapse.
I don’t think I can wait that long.

Oh yeah, here we go.

What's wrong with all of the 53 or so "third parties" already in existence?

It's not going to collapse in our favor. They've (the elites, globalists, trans-nationalists, whatever you want to call them) have done this time and time again in society after society. They know exactly what they are doing.

They`re not, unless another law is passed to rescind a previous law.

In theory the GOP can defund obama-death-care but in practice it will continue to be funded.

It`s a post-post-constitutional republic. The law is whatever they say it is.

Sorry, but that`s reality.
Even Mark Levin knows this and is now down to the last political bullet in the chamber, the Article 5 gambit. Which, I think is a hail mary and will probably fail.

That leaves only 2 possibilities. A 3rd party or loss of reserve currency status ( due to various possibilities) which will result in a 100% permanent crash.

I`m thinking the neo-marxist left is so invested in their ideology (it is more religion than politic) they will never stop spending trying to create utopia which inevitably will have the reverse effect ending in economic disaster, loss of reserve usd status or another type of currency supplants the usd due to the irrational behaviour of the statist/neo-marxists in the USA.

I say, let it burn:

Well, to be fair to those that favor the collapse theory, it only took Russia from 1917 until 1991 to collapse.

Just think, our grand children might live to see it happen here.......

A 3rd party

Which one? Where is it? If you started now, it would take at least a decade.

I say, let it burn:

Nice, if you do that it will take decades to happen. Meanwhile, hospitals will close, doctors will go out of business or retire, insurance companies will disappear, people will avoid getting coverage or getting needed medical attention....people will die.

How do I know this? I live in Maine.

Yup,

it`s burning right now and you`re a witness. Mind you it isn`t 4 alarm yet.You see some smoke, ignition temperature hasn`t been reached, molecules haven`t broken yet but the process has commenced.

You can slow the fire down but will never stop it until it consumes all the carbon.

It is here.

Our "healthcare" insurance market has been in a serious death spiral for about 15 years. We have one of the highest IM premium rates in the US at about $400mo per person. That's $1600mo for a family of 4 or over $19,000 a year.

Why the Hell would you want to impose this cruel nightmare on the unwitting American people?s

This is not just a hypothetical, but rather playing God with real people's lives.

There is no harm in it at all, but the political fighting is over. The only fight left is a physical one.

My soul is prepared. I’ve said my peace. I am ready to die at the hands of a federal storm trooper. I believe the tribulation is coming sooner than any of us think.

We shall see. The next year is/will be telling. Well really, until Election Day 2014. If the sleeping nation doesn't wake up then, and sweep in a majority of conservatives in both houses poised to repeal Abomina-Care, the grim future you predict will indeed only be a matter of time. If it's not already.

Myself I'm more in your mindset. But I don't see such an incredibly cataclysmic result. I see this once great shinning country reduced to a mere shell of what it once was, if the Abominacare is permitted to fester and grow.

Much like Mark Levin was saying before the election of 2012. Funny how he doesn't say that any more.

Anyway, there won't be plagues. Or storm troopers shooting patriots in the streets. Or cataclysmic end time events or even the Advent itself. (Most likely, as I doubt our Lord is too worried about Obamacare. I doubt its implementation is a deal breaker for Him. After all, He is concerned about the entire world, not just America, despite what we Americans like to believe).

No, dogs and cats won't start living together.

There will still be little league and 4th of July parades, apple pie and moms. The country will LOOK the same but it won't BE the same, as the last vestiges of what truly separated us from the rest of the world will be gone. "Little" things like valuing individual liberty AND responsibility. And respecting the property, nay, even the very lives of others. That will be gone too as we enslave an entire class of people to serve our medical needs for "free".

The saddest thing will be that no one will notice, and everyone will call it "good". "Everyone" being the majority now who believes the "government" can handle everything, and pay for everything. The same "everyone" who gets their news from the likes of NBC, or worse, late nite comedians in their monologues, after they have had their fill of shows like Survivor and American Idol.

The few real patriots left such as you, I, amid the rest on this site won't be gunned down, or hauled off to FEMA camps, or anything closely noble that May at least give us the dignity of martyrdom. No, we will either be made laughing stocks if we dare continue to speak of the abysmal slide above or even we, seeing our eventual obscure fate will quietly fade away, to be discussed as a curiousity in some elective college course 50 years from now.

That's the future, the reality, that waits us if the populace doesn't wake up in 2014. It's our last shot, and it's a real long shot. Levin was only off by 2 years, but the above is what waits us otherwise.

And that's probably more scary than Armegeddon itself.

But, wait, the entire premise of the Russian revolution was to WORK for the motherland. There was propaganda everywhere extolling the virtue of work, building the country and sacrifice.

Also, the American engine of prosperity fueled not only America but basically the entire world, even the USSR.

No way we can last more than another 15 years with the mentality of our population and no America out there to help of limp along.

You’re predicting obsolescence. You’re predict the death of the American way of life not by a grandiose clash of ideas and bloodied streets but by gradual, unremarkable fading like an old newspaper. I refuse to believe that will be our fate.

We’re a nation of 300 million people, and I truly honestly believe that well over half of us don’t think that way. I believe the media is trying to cow us into thinking that everyone else thinks that way, but if you talk to even those who admitted voting for Obama, they have regrets; unless, of course, they’re black, and that’s not a racist thing to say, it’s a statistically probably statement.

I don’t personally believe that the degradation of the Federal government through a bloated, overwhelming blanket of regulations and programs will mean our death. The beauty of our nation is that we still have our state governments, and the majority of them ARE conservative in the traditional sense of America. If, however, we start seeing states blindly handing over their sovereignty to the hands of the government leviathan, then Katie, bar the door.

I don’t believe Federal storm troopers are going to storm the doors of my home for any reason, but I do believe that we, as a nation, are heading the way of Detroit. As our Federal government goes bankrupt and requires handouts from the world and specifically China, we’ll see most of our commerce come to a grinding halt, shopping malls will be remnants of a bygone era, and any state that refuses to lick the boot of the Federal government will be subject to fines, sanctions, and eventual takeover.

The Liberals are not shy of violence. They won’t fight the war themselves, but they’ll send our boys to die for their causes. If that means a few thousand Federal executive branch agents storming a governor’s mansion and declaring that state a protectorate of the Federal government, they’ll do it. The State Troopers won’t be powerful enough to stop it. And to think, it’s all possible by our tax dollars.

The Let it collapse theory is stupid. Obamacare is a Trogan horse. They are going to use it to take over the country.

It isn’t going to collapse-because it isn’t about medical care anyway.

People are going to stand up with then are poor or dead, more than they do now?

No.
