Vanity- Draft Tom Delay for the Senate!
Posted on 09/28/2013 7:32:08 AM PDT by TexasBarak
Since John Cornyn voted for cloture (I haven't seen definite news on this, so someone correct me if I'm wrong) despite the expressed wishes of his constituents- and there is still time to file to run against him in a primary....
Since Tom Delay no longer has the cloud of political prosecution hanging over his head....
Let's ask Tom Delay to file in the primary against John Cornyn so that we can have *two* articulate, conservative, and *effective* senators from Texas!
TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Government; Politics/Elections; US: Texas
KEYWORDS: cloture; cornyn; senate; senator

It's high time for Tom Delay to get a real job. I might like his politics, but when someone gets indicted after more than 25 years in government I'd say he should have been indicted 20 years earlier on principle alone.

Do you think running against Cornyn is a lost cause?

The Tom Delay prosecution was all politics & not corruption from what I’ve read. Still, I hold Tom responsible for the loss of the House due to his idiotic pork-barrel shenanigans. We don’t need big spenders in either the house or senate.

Filing for the Mar, 4, 2014 primary is between Nov. 9 to Dec. 9, 2013. Not much time left for anyone to put together a strong organization, gather the money, etc.

I’d say he should have been indicted 20 years earlier on principle alone....I could get YOU indicted tommorrow. Doesn’t mean you did it, doesn’t mean you meant to, but it could tie you up for years. If you are guilty, go to jail. If you didn’t violate any damn law AT ALL...what’s your point?

Tom Delay slept with dogs, and he woke up with fleas. Cry me a river.

Clue me in. How exactly how did he do anything the government isn’t set up to do? Ram a “healthcare plan” down our throats, arm our enemies, promote Islam or secure jobs for his constituents? I don’t know and can’t find anything in news paper reports that aren’t biased. What is your biased opinion?

This will be as effective as drafting Sarah for elected office. Isn’t going to happen.

The Federal budget grew from about $1.5 trillion to $2.8 trillion -- under Democrat and Republican administrations -- during the 12+ years that this guy sat in Congress
as a ranking member of the ruling party in the House of Representatives. And yet we've deluded ourselves into thinking some career politician like this was actually some kind of "conservative."
He made a career out of consorting with a den of thieves, and then his fellow thieves turned on him. Tough sh!t for him. Really.

+1.
Delay is a classic pork-barrel politician. He does not have the fiscal bona fides to talk about fiscal restraint, which is needed right about now.

Right now, people like Cornyn, and no one will oppose him.”
Not true on both accounts. There are two people thus far who have indicated they will run against him.
