Both turban and small knife are requisites of the Sikh faith. Bravo to the Sikh for standing up for his faith. Would that more Christians would do the same.

If I carry a six-foot staff and sharpened dagger as part of My religion, I do not become insulted when a LEO tells Me to 'lose the stick and knife, pal!'

I doubt that you would be applauding Me on those same grounds.

Sure I would. Unless you are doing something threatening with them, there is no reason any cop should have anything to say about it. Apparently police these days are minimally trained in what constitutes legitimate Constitutional law.

Back when I was a teen, we had rented farm acreage that was somewhat remote from the family farm acreage, so I would routinely drive the tractor from one site to the other to "bush-hog" the pastures. When bush-hogging, I carried a .22 revolver loaded with rat shot (for snakes). Worn in a holster, out in the open. I often stopped in at the local grocery (which I had to drive past) for a quick soft drink. Never even thought about removing the gun, and never got it commented on. Of course, the fact that the store owner was a former Marine "might" have had something to do with that.
