“....if Obama were credited with ending America as superpower that he would secretly rejoice in his success. This is the wet dream of every statist liberal.”......

No wet dream at all, bringing down America has been his evil plan all along and finally, yes finally he has achieved his goal. Now we need to find a way to shut HIM down permanently.

I can just imagine what the history “tales” will read when we are all gone.

“I can just imagine what the history “tales” will read when we are all gone.”

They’ll all start “Once upon a time.” Tweeting bluebirds carrying ribbons will surround liberals. Vulchers and flying monkeys will surround conservatives.

It’s easy enough to destroy a nation’s “superpower” status; just destroy the nation.

Perception is reality.

The House is being painted as the “bad ones”.

Basically, the GOP needs to go study marketing. If the press is against you, you don’t just decide to give them ammo.

In short, the longer the Obama presidency continues, the more America's status as a superpower ebbs away.

Amazing that the UK press gets it while none of the sycophants in the US media do.

Stand on principle. Don’t grovel for acceptance. Leaders will emerge from this -and they won’t be democrats.

What is the average margin of victory in the Presdental elections?

5% is a lot. Now, many will still vote for the GOP, but they have lost votes over this.

The Senate won’t budge, and neither will Obama. They have nothing to lose.

Now we need to find a way to shut HIM down permanently.

You can shut him down all you want, but we"re stuck with the millions of jackasses and parasites that first elected and then reelected him, to begin with,

And these same idiots can't wait to pull the lever for Cankles.

When purple lips was reelected, it was Game Over. Call me Eeyore, but the truth is the truth.

Until there its a concerted effort to eliminate vote fraud, you may well be right.

As every previous 'Superpower' including Britain and most recently the USSR found out, you cannot maintain this exalted status for long when you are essentially broke and unable to pay for your imperial aspirations by any means other than putting your future in hock.

The US is joining a long and illustrious club of ex-global superpowers that simply got too fat, complacent and indebted to maintain the military and political infrastructure required to hold on to their position at the top of the heap.

It is an inevitable process going all the way back to the Greeks and probably even before that. If there was a way to build an everlasting empire and avoid imperial decline and fall, one of the many great powers that have arisen between then and now would have found it.

I read Gibbon back during the Carter Administration. It was clear then that any nation who would elect the likes of Jimmy Carter to its highest office was in decline.

""A large portion of public and private wealth was consecrated to the specious demands of charity... and the soldiers pay was lavished on the useless multitudes of both sexes..."

Edward Gibbon; Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.

History demonstrates it starts going wrong for empires when they start thinking that paying benefits to the people is more important than paying soldiers.

One of his major goals from the beginning. Remember the book he was caught reading while running for election the first time?

It was even worse than that.

The then Speaker of the House, Dem Nancy Pelosi, told the Representatives that they must pass the law before they could see what was in it.

Yes, that's right: this law was passed by people who did not know what it entailed.

And this law is so wonderful that Obama made exemptions for all of Congress (staff included), for government employees, for certain unions, for some Big Businesses ... and it is so great that the government is budgeting to spend 1 billion $ to 'sell' it to the American people.

If it were so good - wouldn't everybody, from the President down, queue up to get on it, a.s.a.p.?

“Republicans rightly argue that by pressing ahead with Obamacare before the implications of the programme have been properly assessed risks adding to America’s debt mountain at a time when the American economy is still recovering from the biggest economic crisis in recent history.”

This should read, still NOT recovering”

Is that it or do they have too much to lose by telling it like it is? When I first became aware of Chrissy Matthews show “Hardball” I actually watched it several times. I recall thinking that he seemed to have a grasp of what was actually going on and even Rush Limbaugh at one point said on air that Chris Matthews was one of only two or three in the news business who “gets it right”. The Matthews of 2013 is something I only read about occasionally because I cannot stand to look at him or hear him, he seems like someone totally different from the person I saw in the old days.

Humans are not capable of taking a totally unbiased stand in reporting what happens but the reporting of Huntley and Brinkley back in the sixties was news, we no longer have news reporting, we only have propaganda. Most of what is on TV does not even make a pretense of fair reporting any longer, one minute of the ravings on “The Ed Show” is like spending the day in an insane asylum. Fox News apparently exists mainly to serve as a foil for the rest of the alphabet nutcases, there is near zero chance that Fox will say what needs to be said, the truth is just too much for anyone to report on air. What truth? The truth that this country has fallen from within, it has been conquered in a decades long process of demoralisation and de-education. This nation is not fit for representative government any longer and that is why we do not HAVE representative government. We now suffer under a MALEVOLENT OLIGARCHY, the puppet head of which goes by the name Barack Hussein Obama, a shell in the same way that Bill Clinton is a shell. On his own neither one could ever run a lemonade stand successfully, a nation of voters capable of permitting two such disasters to become two term residents of the oval office is beyond help. Say what you will of George H. W. or George W. Bush but either one towers over the likes of Clinton and Obama like a mountain over an anthill.
