“BRING BACK US BUSINESSES TO AMERICA”

You mean with all the good parts of Obamacare? Like the 29 hour work week? Business’s dropping healthcare coverage for peoples spouse and family? The good stuff like that? The govt taking over every aspect of your life? Its all good.

Wolf’s district is in Eastern Loudoun County VA with a chunk of Northern Fairfax thrown in.

Lots of Feds and Fed Contractors live there. He can’t please both them and his Conservative constiuents and is trying to walk a tightrope. Betting that he can do this and survive a primary challenge and a general election where Conservative voters sit on their hands.

I bet he’s gone this time, regardless. Unfortunately the demographics of his district (blue Fairfax pushing into Loudoun turning it purple) mean that he’ll certainly be replaced by a Democrat.

I agree with you, it is a mess.

The GOP unfortunately does not seem to have a plan currently, to improve US healthcare.

Where is the GOP on this important issue?

That's because it's not within the federal government's constitutional authority. You really don't give a damn about the Constitution, do you?

Do you think its possible for the GOP to do anything about Medicare and EMTALA in the current political environment? Medical malpractice laws? Hell they can't even stop the debt limit from being increased every year.

Government screwed up the entire industry. Having them take it over entirely can hardly be expected to help. Its not logical to think they will improve things.

I disagree.

Healthcare is one of the most law-intense areas of United States code.

There are laws, upon laws, upon laws. Laws about who provides what to whom. Then more laws. And more.

Medicine is one of the single most law-intense areas of US code.

As long as that is the case, I see nothing wrong with supporting government involvement.

I wish the GOP would get off the sidelines and actually move things themselves.

Not currently understanding the GOP position.

Then he will go. Sad, he was one of the good guys for a long time. I lived in his district for close to 20 years. It started out feeling like living in Texas and ended up feeling like living in Massachusetts. All the exurb trendoids and their self-absorbed Millennial spawn fleeing the nests they had soiled in the NE moved in and ruined the place. The taxes have taxes and the laws have laws.

Like 10 million just hit the sites yesterday...like duh...but how many signed up. Saw some poor folks....people that get treated in the emergency rooms...insurance or not...the welfare folks. We'll still be paying for them plus more...just like Medicare and Medicaid and you know how that is working.

This is Medicare and Medicaid Jr so you're taxed twice.

I think there is a tipping point but they need stats first....like maybe everyone over 60 will be made Medicare eligible...so those early retirees who are still healthy will have Part B stripped from their SS checks. They need the numbers first.

Are you seeing some of the figures people are putting out there as to what this will cost?

We are talking large, bankrupting levels of cost and very high deductibles. This is going to push many families, who are just hanging on to a normal, middle class existence after five years of these policies, over the edge.

There are lots of UNCONSTITUTIONAL federal health laws. Show me in Art. 2 Section 8 of the Constitution where the federal government is given authority over health care.

Our Emergency rooms are open to all....no one is turned away. We subsidize hospitals. We're paying a sh** load because of free loaders. And yet, no one should be turned away. We are a compassionate people.

Improve healthcare?? Stop feeding people pills and saying come back in two weeks and two weeks and two weeks.....

"nationalization of 15% of our economy"

When you make statements like that, it undermines your credibility.

The number of people who are covered by obamacare is relatively small and they will buy their insurance from insurance companies participating in the exchanges. Some will receive subsidies.

Most will continue to get their health care from group policies, individual policies, medicare, Medicaid(which will be expanded in some states, but not republican states), and VA.

I know.

That said, what can we do about freeloaders? And can we turn Americans from freeloaders, to workers?

We send American jobs to China (a COMMUNIST country) and now China has a lower unemployment rate than America.

All Apple ipads and things are made there, to the best of my knowledge.

That is HUGE. Computers are made there. Hardware. You name it.

We need the GOP to get with the program and support American jobs. Even it it means, defensive measures in American markets.

Just saying.

The project is much bigger than just healthcare.

Bring back American jobs!

The GOP needs to hang tough. The tide is turning and incidents like the national monuments being barricaded are going to turn against Obama. He and Reid will be blamed for the shutdown especially if the House can pass chunks of funding measures except Obamacare.

Don’t misrepresent my post—and then tell me I’m undermining my credibility!

As I referred to it previously, Obamacare is essentially a form of economic fascism, but the Democrats’ plan is for Obamacare to give way to fully socialized medicine, which would mean the nationalization of approximately 15% of our economy.

As I also posted earlier, I would not be able to purchase now the health plans that I had in any of the last three states I’ve lived in—they have been regulated away by Obamacare.

Sure, send over a “clean” CR — with EVERYTHING cut 10 percent (real cuts, not reductions in the increase.) And couple it with a provision in the debt limit increase prohibiting additional borrowing until all options to cut spending have been exhausted. Watch the Democrats kill both bills. Wrap the massive debt around them. Another issue for the election.
