Barry-cades become symbol of Obama’s shutdown.
Morgen Richmond, of the former Verum Serum blog, has been doing great research on the closure of parks and monuments in Washington, D.C. by Obama and the Democrats, revealing rank hypocrisy and mean-spiritedness.
For example, The White House now claims that it needed to erect barricades at the WWII Memorial to keep out vistors, including a group of visiting WWII veterans, because parks service personnel know how to perform CPR. (Seriously, that’s the claim.)
But Morgen demonstrated that the WWII memorial is open 24 hours a day, but only staffed part of the day, which means that for much of the time it’s open there are no parks service personnel there at all. Such much for the bogus CPR defense.

The local radio stations here in DC are saying that the park service, when asked about the fencing off of the Lincoln Monument and WW2 memorial, told them that the ENTIRE MALL from the Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial is “officially closed and trespassers are subject to arrest.” Which means that folks walking across the Mall could end up in Jail. I’m wondering if they are going to block off all of the streets that bi-sect the Mall? That will really screw up traffic, but I don’t put it past Obambo to issue such an order.
Obama has turned the USA into a socialist nation, where now peace loving people who just want to visit a war museum erected in their honor are in danger of having a gun pointed at them and arrested.
It sounds to me like they are AFRAID real Americans might show up. LOL
It’s been in the news. Instead of naming the Republican HOR reps who took down the barricades they’re now calling them “men in suits”.
I hope reid and obama are stupid enough to keep the government shut down for weeks. Let the message be sent that we don’t need the government; things (gasp) actually still function without DC. The “national parks” will be just fine and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
I have no idea....on the basis that FDR was a Democrat, I’d say Obama isn’t going to stop anybody from prostrating themselves before it in worship.

The Honor Flights that take veterans to these memorials usually include several medical escorts. A year ago my son escorted my 90 year old father-in-law on what was one of the hottest days in DC. After their long day and as they were on final approach back to Dayton, a passenger had a seizure to which my son and another escort responded and were able to stabilize until met by a squad at the gate. The irony, it was a 24 young man who had the seizure, all the veterans (several in their 90s) we fine.
Maybe we need a million or so outraged patriots demonstrating their outrage on the Mall instead of on our keyboards.

I served for ten years and as a supportive spouse, another 20. I would do it again in a heart beat...but not in today’s military thanks to the Kenyan in the white house, his military leaders and the repeal of DADT.
Our country and it’s citizens deserve so much better...God willing, this ordeal we are going through may bring about just that realization...we’ll see.
