I can tell you how....and here it is: Every camera in the world was waiting for the Speaker and Reid/Pelosi to come out and speak after the meeting at the White House. Boehner had PRIME TIME COVERAGE...and he wrapped it up in a minute or two...not really leveling any damaging charge except they won't negotiate. Then Reid/Pelosi did a TAG team for 10 minutes. They roasted the GOP with lies.
Now...you and I get it...but for the average American out there, the dems just got 10+ minutes of prime time filibuster. Boehner could have done that. He could have explained ALL of this in a nice 10 minute speech...and could have spoken so long that the average American would have turned it off...WHICH WOULD HAVE LED TO THEM NOT HEARING PELOSI/REID.
But NO. He played nice....talked for a minute...then let the dems slam him for 10. That's NOT how its accomplished. He had prime time...uncensored coverage....and HE WALKED AWAY FROM IT.

I saw the replays. Boehner’s short sweet reply sounded factual and professional while Dingy and the Shrew looked unhinged trying to spin this thing their way. Know why the left is trying so hard to spin this? They know nothing will happen just like the sequester.

He didn't. And you must remember, you are looking at this with your bias and you see it a certain way and that's why the dems look unhinged. This is where the GOP fails. They forget you have to frame the debate for the low income voter....and to do that takes time.
This was a BIGTIME missed opportunity. Yeah...you get it cause you are following the discussion...but the average idiot out there needs to be lead to a decision.

You are giving WAY to much credit to the LIV's out there...the same people who put Obama back in office...and that's our mistake: We think that THEY think like us. They don't.
Well I think the flaw in their position is their “We will not negotiate.”
Since brevity is the soul of wit, I think Boehner hit it just right. He hit them for refusing to compromise, which is what people want.
Reid and Pelosi looked like two cats trying to scramble onto a rowboat with all the spin. Reid actually said he would not compromise.
We just see it different. Tomorrow will tell.
And what I am saying is he had a prime time opportunity to lay out the reason for this...and explain it. He should have explained why they were doing this...the exact impacts of Obummercare...and exactly why its important.
Look...I'm a preacher. I know that only a few things that I say will actually go home with the congregation. That's why I repeat them...so they will stick. When dealing with the public...you have to reiterate your points. You aren't lecturing a bunch of college students who are expected to take notes and review.

However, the cynical side of me says the networks would have cut to commercial or whatever when Boner went of his allotted time or went "off script" and they would have gone back to the feed when Reid and Pelosi were back on.
Don't doubt it for a second.
