DA won’t charge bike assault thugs
New York Post ^

Posted on 10/02/2013 10:51:12 AM PDT by Blue Turtle

The Manhattan DA’s office won’t press charges against one of the motorcycle thugs who allegedly terrorized and beat a man after a wild chase on the West Side Highway, and is reluctant to prosecute another, sources said Wednesday. Allen Edwards, 43, of Queens, who allegedly smashed Alexian Lien’s rear driver’s side window with his fist, surrendered to cops Tuesday morning but will not be charged, the sources said.

The event started when the SUV guy tail-gated and then rammed a first biker, injuring him”””

You must be seeing a truncated version of the tape. The EVENT started when the bikers SWARMED around a driver in an SUV. It could have been anyone. They wanted the road to themselves to perform their ‘stunts’.

This is not the first time such a swarm of bikers has harassed drivers in that area.

It all backfired on the bikers.

They should ALL be prosecuted.

THEY ALL participated in this SWARM.

They let his Ass_ _ _ _ out on a bail of only $15,000. Should have been $15 million, IMO.

Thank you for doing the research on this thug.

I have absolutely no sympathy for him or his family.

He can find sympathy in the dictionary—between SH— and Syphillus.

my tourist dollars can be better spent elsewhere.

If I really wanted to "see" New York....I'd look at pictures.

I find it hard to believe that there are any FReepers who are so uninterested in the facts of this case to continue to defend these two-wheeled thugs.

And what the heck does the race of any of the participants have to do with what happened?

Chinese people are terrible drivers? They panic too easily? Hispanics are to be excused for the damages they do when they go on criminal rampages?

Cut me a break.

Have these FReepers totally forgotten the issues in the Zimmerman case?

So what if the driver of the SUV panicked? He was legitimately in fear of his life and that of his wife and daughter. He did what he thought was necessary to escape the danger he was in.

Zimmerman was in fear of his life, and he killed his assailant.

The “aspiring rapper” with the two broken legs got off easy.

” The event started when the SUV guy tail-gated and then rammed a first biker, injuring him. The remaining bikers surrounded the SUV and forced it to the curb.”

Looks like you didn’t watch the entire tape. You might want to try doing that before coming to that ridiculous conclusion.

“Baby in a baby seat in the backseat. Baby maybe too young to know what’s going on. Wife probably in front. Even if in back with baby screaming, 911 takes priority.

I go cold and analytical in emergencies myself, and I don’t have much patience for women who can’t keep it together. Or the men, but they are fewer.”

They made two 911 calls plus there were over 200 911 calls altogether. Cops in NYC do NOT pursue these gangsta bikers per official policy.

I can understand reasons for not chasing swarms of bikers. I don’t understand why the police don’t send an intercept if someone says “a swarm of bikers is chasing me.”

Cops were too busy with barricades to keep them out of Manhattan.

When all the dust settled who got injured the worst? Chinese driver or Hispanic biker? Check the details before answering

“Uhhh, they were already in Manhattan.”

Technically, yes but I meant they were not in the business/tourist part of Manhattan. They had been pushed back to the outer parkways.

OK. Shame they weren’t pushed all the way into the Hudson river.

You are right dennisw, I need to think this through a littler more.

If the man was swarmed by a mob of 30 bikers, completely surrounded, dead-stop in the middle of a highway, shouting, making threatening gestures, doing damage to his vehicle (according to the police report) and he had to gravely injure a few to get away, is he morally culpable for their injuries?

I mean, sure, on the one side you have a 33-year-old web designer, his wife and a two-year-old, and on the other side you got 30 angry bikers/aspiring rappers/amateur stuntsmen. But being Chinese, there was no way he should have panicked in that situation. He should have known that if he needed to he could have handled them with his mad kung-fu skillz. Even the baby, in times of distress, would have busted out some Five-Finger-Dragon-Lotus-Punch-of-Death.

Yet he chose to flee, and run over an unfortunate Obama’s Son in the process. Coward! Obviously this evil Asian man savagely profiled these poor brown Hispanics with their plateless bikes and skull face-masks.

Can Asians even be racist? Must be one of them white-Asians.

You have certainly enlightened me, dennisw. Considered me enlightened.

“When you look at the video, you can see he’s running over something,” said the biker’s wife, Diana Mieses. “It’s not just a motorcycle; it’s a human being that was under there.”

The family of biker Jay Mieses said he was seriously injured when the SUV plowed into several bikers.

“He got scared and peeled off and paralyzed my husband on the way,” Mieses said.

Yolando Santiago, the injured biker’s mother, said that all of her son’s ribs are fractured and his lungs are so badly bruised that he is still on a ventilator.

“We believe he has two broken legs, and he’s intubated, and he may be paralyzed,” New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.

These bikers would have made fools of the NYPD. They would have ridden off road to escape them over sidewalks etc. Even more potential injuries chaos death. That’s my theory why NYPD left them alone

Official policy after a four year old was killed by a biker on a sidewalk. Still no excuse to allow anarchy in the streets.
