Russian Embassy In Libya Attacked
Zero Hedge ^ | October 2, 2013

Posted on 10/02/2013 1:21:27 PM PDT by Zakeet

First it was the Americans. Now it is the Russians' turn. Al Arabiya reports (and Itar-Tass confirms) that "Gunmen attacked the Russian embassy in the Libyan capital Tripoli on Wednesday, Al Arabiya correspondent reported. The sound of gunfire and rocket-propelled grenades could be heard around the embassy, the correspondent added. No further details were immediately available." According to unverified reports on Twitter, the embassy had been evacuated before the attack (the Russian NSA appears to be more efficient than its US equivalent).

The Russian embassy in Tripoli:

RT adds:

The Russian embassy in Tripoli, Libya, has come under fire and there were attempts to get into Russia’s diplomatic compound, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“There has been an incident in Tripoli tonight, in which there was shelling and attempts to enter the territory of the Russian Embassy in this country,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich told RT.

According to preliminary information, there are no reports of injuries among the staff.

Nearly two years after Gaddafi was deposed and killed, Tripoli and other Libyan cities have been plagued by violence, lawlessness and factional infighting.

The presence of militiamen remains more visible than actual state security forces in the capital, while vast portions of the oil-producing desert country remain completely out of the central government’s control.

A possible photo from the scene of the attack.

A guess; Russia will aid it’s people more than we did.

Just as Putin is more worthy of trust than the US Prez.

Russia has a flat tax, while the USA does not.

Not saying they’re NICE, just that the worm has really, really turned.

They didn’t get in, and nobody was hurt.

The Russian also know how to handle this sort of crap. The attackers (and probably their families, too) will shortly become acquainted with the friendly folks from the Spetznaz. I don’t envy them.

Mexican drug-wars really bring out the Aztec in the hombre —one narco would deep-free the feet of his targets, then slowly lower the rest of them into boiling oil.

When feeling extra frisky he’d to the KIDS of the target.

The Russians should consider this, and I think they will.

Watch and see. Every thing the US did in response to the Libyan attack?

The Russians will do the opposite.

The Libyan terrorists ought to know: You can torture and kill our ambassador and get way with it. (What difference does it make?)

But I don’t think Putin will be so pussified.

Not smart. Vlad Putin and his SPETSNAZ forces do not p*ssy foot around with things the way Obama does.

IMO, Islam will end when they push things too far with the ChiComs, who will turn Mecca into a smoking field of green glass.

Russia may not be a super super power at the moment, but they are rather able to make problems like this go away, in such a way that those who did it won’t be back.

There will be hell to pay if Al Qaeda used American-supplied weapons.

Neah, the Russkis are civilized.
The are, however, known to send small body parts (fingers, ears, etc.) from loved ones to those who are misbehaving, to encourage them to behave better.
This happened waaaay back in Lebanon when some unpleasant folks kidnapped some embassy wonk, and they got him back - unharmed.
