Pelosi rallies Dems behind sweeping immigration proposal
The Hill ^ | Oct, 2, 2013 | Mike Lillis

House Democratic leaders unveiled legislation Wednesday to overhaul the nation's broken immigration system and create a pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal residents.

The sweeping proposal, which largely mirrors the bipartisan package approved by the Senate in June, is designed to keep the immigration issue in the headlines and intensify the pressure on GOP leaders to bring a reform bill to the floor.

What is broken about our immigration system? Seems to work fine. The problem is the borders are open and people are breaking our laws.

The federal government has all but destroyed this country, devalued our dollar and borrowed trillions from Communist countries.

Not enough?

The Fedgov intentionally aided and abetted an epic decades long country killing illegal invasion of tens of millions, which changed our history and resulted in our very electoral process being undermined and compromised.

A government that will not secure and defend it’s own legitimate borders and sovereignty, will itself become illegitimate and illegal.

I suppose this is another huge s*** sandwich like Obamacare: We won’t know what’s in it until we sink our teeth into it.

Unfortunately a s*** sandwich is the only thing Bela Pelosi is capable of creating.

The only thing that is stopping this is the stupidity of Democrats.

First they promote Rubio who had no chance of being president. Let Republicans act as if immigration is the only reason Rubio is losing support.

Then they attack Grassley and King making predictions about the Boston bombing.

Schumer made a bill so bad that even Boehner said he wanted majority support. Whether not that was true. But the problem for hispanderers was the it was Steve King’s caucus who pushed all along for the majority of majority vote. Now La Raza can make ads about Cantaloupes and Boehner pretending to cave to King.

Steve King is the only congressman to have passed an illegal immigration amendment so far this year. How can they hispander out of this?

Then Dems pull out an amnesty bill and interfere with Goodlatte, Gowdy and Cantor pushing amnesty lite. They have Raul Grijalva saying he doesnt want a secure border because Mexicans should be allowed a free education every day.

Id suggest Lynn Jenkins is a leadership person who should have bunch of ads run against her.

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

[but he’s not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]

Well, we CLEARLY need an immigration bill that is 12,302,953,495,594,823 pages long, and we shouldn’t allow anyone to read it until we pass it!

LOL! Government shutdown is sweet music. I loathe the US Government.

They are nothing but a bunch of socialists totally removed from the founding of this Nation.

While I get the loathing, I can’t go quite that far...I served for ten years and was very proud to do so...
It’s just too damn big and with the crew presently in charge, we see what happens when the Constitution, laws and leadership responsibilities are disrespected and ignored so I don’t blame you!
I think there will always be a tenuous relationship between a “free” people and their govt...we just need to get things back to emphasis on free instead of govt....if we can.

The rush is to get the 60 million illegals registered to vote before the November 2014 elections.
One way or another, the dimrats will get that done.
Remember, the laws are what ever Obama/holder say they are.
If the illegals were going to solidly vote republican, the dims would be employing the military to get them all out and would lock down the border like the old USSR.
