The federal government is facing a class-action lawsuit over its shutdown-related closure of the WWII Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

A constitutional law firm is prepared to take action on First Amendment grounds.

“By spending money to bring in barricades to attempt to shut down an open-air memorial is abhorrent and deeply insulting to WWII vets who defended the very freedoms that are now threatened by the Obama Administration’s actions. We are prepared to take legal action if this injustice is not corrected,” Jay Sekulow, chief counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice, said Wednesday.

Levin just said if any veteran is touched or arrested for going to the memorials he’s going to DC with a crowd. I will go.

ACLJ, cool. They are good people. I met Jay once. He’s shorter than he looks on tv. But a man of great stature in our fight for freedom.

To paraphrase a tweet sent out earlier today by Rand Paul: Barack Obama sent more security to keep the vets out of the World War II Memorial than he did to keep the terrorists out of our consulate in Benghazi.

In his second term Barry has decided the law does not apply to him, he just issues whatever orders he wants.

FIRE FOR EFFECT!!!!

(We’re totally on target folks. A lib complained to me about the closing of VA hospitals. I brought up the FR post showing Dems blocked funding for the VA in the House. She was silent, and livid at me.)

Some of these WWII Veterans have real health issues. How does it look if one of them keels over trying to move a barricade?

I never could understand how suing the federal government could be of any advantage.

Even if the feds were to lose the case, who pays the court costs but the taxpayer? It’s like suing oneself.

Totally illegal to shut down.
