House Republicans are seizing the Obama administrations decision to barricade the open-air World War II memorial in Washington as a potent political weapon in their shutdown showdown with the president.
Majority Leader Eric Cantor led a group of GOP lawmakers in denouncing the decision from the Capitol steps, and House oversight committee chairman Darrell Issa has launched an investigation into why the WWII memorial and other open-air monuments have been shut down.

They’re slow learners, but finally catching on....never let a crisis go to waste.
Why don’t they Barry-cade a freeway. That’ll get people REALLY riled up.
McConnell needs too run to the head of the (actual, on the Mall) column to beat Dingy upside the head.
House Hindsight and Government Expansion Committee chairman Darrell Issa has launched an investigation into why the WWII memorial and other open-air monuments have been shut down. If the investigations into F&F, the IRS and Benghazi are any indicator, we may get a resolution sometime around the next fly-by of Hally’s comet.
0bama sent more guards to close the WW II Memorial than he did to keep Benghazi open.
Because the government thinks these things belong to them.
They of course are wrong, but it’s the crux of every issue. They have lost touch of the people actually owning everything around them, including the fancy chairs we allow them to sit on.
It’s well past time this country wake up and put the congress back in its place.
Then McConnell should go to Atlanta with the 200 Cancer kids Dingy is trying to kill and beat him upside the head again.
Get somebody like Newt Gingrich to talk about this foolishness. Newt is an excellent speaker in the Washington Style. Newt is structured, factual and dramatic as needed to illustrate the story. On the other side on the isle, John Kerry is also a good speaker, but often has little to say except to parrot key talking points while showing ‘righteous anger’.
Nice.
Excellent!!!
Really bad PR for Obozo and company....
REALLY bad....
That ought to be interesting
I wanted to believe in Darrel Issa, that he would help yank the veil off all those lies, but after a few good opening scenes, nothing has really happened to explain and blame all these scandals.Lois Lerner quit or retired, big whoop, she belongs in jail. Makes me wonder if Issa and Co. are overworked, overmatched or maybe even complicit.
“...Why dont they Barry-cade a freeway...”

Yup.
All of the interstate highway system is owned by the federal government.
SHUT DOWN THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS!
If they want a war with the American people - the moment Obama’s stormtroopers arrest or harass one of those hero veterans and bar them from visiting THEIR OWN memorial PAID FOR PRIVATELY - then a war they shall have.
We came unarmed to D.C. just a few years ago and warned them not to tread on us. We’re not going to take this final outrage lying down.
If His Heinous, Fuhrer Emperor Obama and his minions want to push us into territory they will wish they never ventured, the moment they lay a hand on one of those vets will unleash a fury they will never forget, and we will give them cause to fear We The People again.
I’m done being civil with the uncivil. If the government has to shut down because it has no money and no budget - where the hell did Obama’s goons find funds to erect Barry-Cades and station armed guards and troopers on horseback??? This is a big fat finger in our face from Obama and his Marxofascists.
If they want a war, then they shall have one if they dare touch one of those vets and prohibit them from their honored memorial.

Mt. Rushmore is also closed, and barricades have been put up along highways where you could view the monument. Our governor and private groups have offered to keep the monument open, but of course the government lackeys have refused the offers.
