Take away one zero and it would make more sense.
It is a very good profession to be in. You might be thinking of a dental assistant which is much lower on the pay scale.
Stamford Connecticut is a very high cost of living city not all that far from Manhattan. I haven’t been there but I know people from that area and it is much like most of the most expensive urban areas. The report I read was she made 92k last year and I note that she did temporary hygienist work and placement services for others putting together clinics needing temp staff and hygienists looking for temp work.
Seemed like a hard working woman who either got terribly belligerent or panicked. If she had quit trying to bulldoze here way out, she might have lived, but having seen an incident like this in real time right in front of me, where a burglary perp was shot to death due to not stopping his car, I have some sympathy for the sworn officers — bad decisions by all.
I checked the average salary of dental hygienists in the Stamford area—$91,000/yr.
Remember that the cost of living up there is through the ceiling.
