Closure of War Memorials Continues to Cause Conflict (Vietnam Vets Kicked Out of Wall)

SNIP

Like the hundreds of World War II veterans who came to National Mall to pay their respects this week, a group of Vietnam veterans found a barricade blocking the way to their memorial Friday. News4's Mark Segraves said two U.S. Park Service Rangers manning the gate asked that the group respect the government's shutdown but moved aside.

Segraves described the exchange as pleasant and respectful.

The veterans then moved the barricade and walked down to the wall to pay their respects. But a flood of tourists followed even though the memorial is closed to the general public.

U.S. Park Police arrive to the scene, asked everyone to leave and put the barricade back into place.

Are they kidding. They don’t think spitting on them when they came home, agent orange and all the abuse was not enough for these vets. I think they are messing with the wrong bunch of soldiers.

“Methinks they want war.”

YES, THEY DO.
They desperately want a “Tea Party” triggered confrontation, and if they don’t get it, their insane Kos followers aren’t above creating one, like they did the racist signs at Tea Party Rallies.

I heard a bit about an 1870 law that was passed that gives the government the ability to mitigate any liability to any memorial, whether it is privately funded or operated...

This is their cover...I do not recall what case it was, but it was mentioned on FoxNews a short while ago...

From what I understand, even the fact that “our” argument is valid, to keep these facilities accessable to the public, the mear fact that the PR machine is allowing exceptions for the WWII Vets to visit their memorial is, in my opinion a slap in their face as well...

But we do not see that discussion anywhere...

This is going to take us through the weekend, because as far as I know, even the Texas congressional delegation I have been pinging on for the last few days on this issue is set to get their weekend off to a start...And I believe they want all of this to go away over the weekend in the news media...therefore the public will go away and leave them alone...I believe it is that simple...

So their illustrative fecklessness is proving our position that we need a show of force at these facilities, and keep it as civil as possible, let them make the first mistake...I hope they do not make a mistake...

That is what they want to have happen if somehow DC is flooded with a bunch of pizzed off citizenry...

I know it may sound like it is stooping to their level if we do manage to show up in droves this weekend or in the near future, but if I have been hearing that Mark Levin is attempting to organize a presense there, we may need to have some willing folks to back up that play...The more, the merrier, in my opinion...

Oh, and one more aspect of that argument regarding that 1870 law, is that the modern support apparatus in DC that handles the sanitation requirements for those facilities is at a reduced or limited capability, also draws in the Department of Health and Human Services rules and regulations that may have a play on this issue...So that is something else that may need to be addressed...

Thats all I have at this time, I hope you or anyone else can pull up that particular case law, I think it is case law, I’ll keep poking around see what comes up...Maybe we can find a solution for all of this governemnt imposed nonsense...

I’ll be monitoring any responses if anyone has an input...I think we can build some leverage with this information, and exert the right kind of pressure and make the other side blink first before our feckless leaders cave...I kinda see this coming, we may need to move fast...

Regards...

The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counseller, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:

In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.

For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

Isaiah 3:3-8

It is NOT the government’s WALL. It is our wall. The are simply the groundskeepers.

Do the groundskeepers tell you to stay our of your house? place of employment?

Take back our wall.

If 10,000 people show and open the park, what are they going to do?

Use tear gas. Water cannons. Firepower.

Wonder why McCain isn’t standing up for the veterans?

In 1991-1993 McCain, Kerry and Rumsfeld said there were no POWs living in SE Asia (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia). At the time, there were still more than 100 POWs in those countries. Never forget.

I owe a number of FReepers a mia culpa for stating the other day I didn’t think Obama would stoop this low.

Well he did and I was wrong.

Wasn't it Kerry's cousin that was awarded the billion dollar contract by pretending POW/MIAs didn't remain in Vietnam?

I’m waiting on Levin to call for a mass march on Washington. If any of you plan on going, you’d better be committed. They will shoot you.

If I were trying to write bad “Civil War II” fiction, I might come up with a storyline like this. Except nobody would believe a President would be so stupid because anybody in their right mind would know the consequences.

For whoever in the NSA may be monitoring this or Googling in the future, I am absolutely **NOT** calling for violence. We don't have grounds for it. Our goal ought to be to use the electoral process, especially since with stupid moves like this by the liberals, there is a great chance we may be winning.

I am not longer convinced, however, that President Obama or some of his handlers may not be trying to provoke an incident.

If they are trying to provoke an incident, this is the way to do it.

Let's not forget whose ends will be best served by violence. It's not ours. If it is going to happen, let the other side be the ones doing stupid things like arresting 90-year-old World War II vets and dragging disabled Vietnam vets out of their wheelchairs.

President Obama understands the power of images in the civil rights movement. With the right images, we can win. The wrong images could do tremendous damage.

First of all, is there not one decent person in the Obama administration who will not resign in protest?

So these rangers not realize they can all call in sick?

They’ve got rangers with red lights flashing blocking the entrance to an Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

When will the rubber band snap? Gulags? It’s time for a true leader to step up and lead us.

I wish some sheriff would go to a park and arrest the rangers if they don’t leave.

I was thinking earlier about what would it do to this country if all federal highways were to be shut down. And I’m wondering why they aren’t.

“0” wants his war with the American people and will keep poking us in the eye and piling on the hurt until he gets it. He is obsessed with killing Americans with Americans for his muzzi buds it is sickening. He is suicidal and the only thing he fears is leaving office with this Country at peace with itself.

They didn’t decide to ask US soldiers whether they were willing to shoot at Americans or not just for the heck of it.
