This should open more eyes.
...music to my ears, bro.
I guess its time for them to choose this day whom they will serve - their God or the man. I believe there are some very strong priests who will defy the order. But, I’m taking a wait and see attitude. (I’m not Catholic, by the way), but I know that some Catholics are very strong in their faith and will not back down.
Ping.
Why?

Keep in pocket, looking for an updated memo:

Let me be clear: I’m defending anything at all. I’ve received a number of negative comments on my comment (which is fine) but I was not trying to defend anything.
My position is that officials at military bases may not be acting out of purely evil intent. I think Obama is evil. The guys at the bases are probably not.
My view (which may be erroneous) is that the bases are taking an across-the-board view — salaried people need to stay home. It’s not proper for anyone to show up at the base and “volunteer” at their job.
Now, the situation with the priests may not fit the scenario above, in which case my view is simply wrong. But my thinking was that making an “exemption” for some folks and allowing them to volunteer was the sort of thing Obamacare does and not the sort of thing that Conservatives (”everyone is equal before the law”) might support.
But I’m not pushing the idea, because a lot of folks here think I’m misunderstanding some of the basics. Which could be true.
Understand. Ever since this man was in Chicago, he made it his mission to take down Catholic souls.
Look at how many Catholics he hired to do his work in contradiction to their faith.
We know the state of ‘our brethren’ before... during SC questioning of Roberts and others re: abortion. They pushed the issue, not the others.
But this... is something on a different level. Spiritual Warfare.
I’ve watched the phony Catholic groups and participants in so-called faith committees that rail against the faith.
I pray for them. I pray for us all.

The churches and synagogues outside the bases should open their churches to our military and allow the military priests/pastors to conduct services.

Great idea!
I bet some of that is already taking place.
“The churches and synagogues outside the bases should open their churches to our military and allow the military priests/pastors to conduct services.”
There are probably a lot of churches and a few synagogues near those bases. Open them up so the Chaplin in that area can hold a service. Then, provide transportation for the military people
see main article and post 4.
Perhaps some contract volunteer priests should celebrate mass and let themselves be arrested. They can’t be tried by court-martial, because they aren’t members of the military, and pro-bono lawyers could have a lot of fun with this.
Jeepers ... Thanks for the ping!

Is Obama now micro-managing which deparments within the military that are operational? Ships but not refuelers? Infantry but not cavalry? Everyone but the chaplains?
