10.This whole dispute is about the Republican Party fighting to make sure the working poor don’t have access to affordable health care.

No. It’s about preventing the entire middle class from becoming the working poor.

I went there to read the comments. How do you counter such rampant ignorance and absurdity? The country is dying by a thousand cuts and the progressives mentality keeps providing more knives.

Yep. Mother Jones nails it. Republicans want everybody to die.

The secret’s out! Jim can close the site down now. We’ve been found out.

We’d have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for those damn Mother Jones kids and their dog.

What is getting lost in all this drama is that the shutdown is even possible because the U.S. Senate has failed to pass a budget in 7 years. If they had done their job, continuing resolutions would not be needed.

Keep in mind we are talking government book-keeping. Instead of counting real dollars actually spent, the "savings" is based on the money that could possibly be spent due to automatic increases in the budget each year.

Also, the entire government is not shut down. Only the "unimportant" parts. Which varies from department to department.

Exactly. A truthful article would have Myth #1: The Government is not shut down.

The very reason for the article is based on a false premise.

The whole Obamacare program looks more like a sick joke on anyone who has to go through it, from the unprintable telephone number, to the non functioning website to having to depend on the whims of a government official for your very life.It is like having Caligula with the internet

It wasn't an accident that no budget has been passed.

When you pass a budget, you have to spell out where the money is to be spent and in what amounts. Then you have to publish it, and people can read it and know what you spent and where. Can you see why some Congressmen might not want to do that?

"It wasn't an accident that no budget has been passed."

I can give you 787 billion reasons why they haven't passed a budget: under the rules of the CRs, they get the "one time" stimulus spending year after year after year.

These “revolutionaries” at MJ couldn’t lead a f@rt out of a phone booth.

I can tell a MJ reader whenever I go into Whole Foods wearing my Vietnam vet cap. The dirty look backed up by 120 lbs of skinny liberal rage. My 250 lb grinback doesn’t help.

;^)

Ha. I too go to Whole Foods. Tell the wife “gotta go to the hippie store” where I buy un cured bacon(allergy to nitrates.) I wear either an NRA cap or a Sierra bullet cap and usually wear a strategic looking vest to hold my “stuff”. And I too get the stink eye from hippies and I took give them that “grin”. Very entertaining trips to the store.

I got to have some fun with one at our local “natural foods” store. The ditzy chick saw my submarine cap and got all snitty with me. Decided to ask me for an ID when I paid with a card just to insult me. I showed her my concealed firearm permit! Thought she was gonna’ hyperventilate.
