So, uh, maybe I missed it, but what IS the issue with the XDs’s? Why the recall?

I missed it all since I am not an XD owner.

I had heard what the deal was but did not pay it to much attention.

As I recall it was a very minor condition.

Old injuries from high-school/college sports and moving at age 54 makes “Aleve” useless. I can barely stand long enough to take a shower without crying the pain is so bad. Been unpacking for a week and today I took it easy. Seems better than yesterday.

I am sorry to hear that brother.
We are the same age and my youth is catching me as well.

I thought my hips were ***ed up for years from motorcycle accidents and such, but it is the back.

The hips don’t work if the back is barrycaded.

Yikes. Not good.

The recall applies to a select number of XD-S pistols based on their serial numbers. Pistols affected by the recall include: XD-S 9mm pistols with serial numbers between XS900000 and XS938700, and XD-S .45 ACP pistols with serial numbers between XS500000 and XS686300.

There was a push shaft on a spring that enabled it.
They took out the spring and made the shaft a interference press fit.

That is it.

Simple to reverse but then it becomes a Class III weapon.

When WROL arrives, the distinction will be a moot point. I have AR pistols that can become SBRs very easily when the time comes to ‘upgrade’.
