People, please read the 14th Amendment.

It was basically the anti-slavery amendment, which is fine, but a couple of clauses refer to insurrection and rebellion and the 3rd clause refers to the removal of legislature members considered to be “in rebellion.”

Is anybody here listening to this? I think Boehner has heard it loud and clear and that’s why he’s suddenly grown a spine.

So, in the opinion of a tyrant who refuses to follow the constitution......

....those who wish to follow it are in rebellion? That boat won’t float.

4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.

The part he's probably proposing to use reads:

The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned...

But as usual he reads it selectively, ignoring the part in italics

Actually, you may say this is a dubious source but it backs up the theory;
