I am not surprised by this announcement, and it never occurred to me to contribute anything to this cathedral.
Sheesh.
5.56mm
Another wolf in sheep’s clothing.
The church really that hard up for money?
This is the supposed “National Cathedral”.
The party in the White House voted God down three times on nationwide TV, and we elected them anyway. The party in power is arming the people who knocked down the Twin Towers and is slaughtering Christians. The National Cathedral preaches perversion and is proud of it.
I fear for our country.
The National Cathedral is Episcopal, isn’t it? So this is not surprising.
Well I guess I am going to Episcopalian hell. That explains why I converted to Catholicism.
Before being confirmed in the Catholic Faith, I was an Eco-palian — a “pis”-ed off Episcopalian. They destroyed a perfectly good denomination with the whole Gay thing.
Here is a little info on the nutcase who has it upside down:
The Very Rev. Gary R. Hall assumed his duties as tenth dean of Washington National Cathedral on Oct. 1, 2012. An ordained minister for more than 35 years, Hall is a past dean and president of SeaburyWestern Theological Seminary in Evanston, Ill. He currently serves as the National Cathedral’s chief ecclesiastical leader and executive officer, working closely with the bishop of Washington and governing bodies to shape and support ministries to the city of Washington, the nation, and the world.
Hall was born in Los Angeles and holds an A.B. from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. from UCLA in addition to his M.Div from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Mass. The congregations he has served include All Saints Pasadena, where he was senior clergy associate for education for 11 years. Prior to his work at SeaburyWestern, where he served from 2005 to 2010, Hall was for five years the rector of Church of the Redeemer in Bryn Mawr, Penn. He most recently was rector of Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
If there really is such a thing as “homophobia”, technically “the fear of homosexuality”, then it would be a medical condition. Medical conditions cannot be “sin”. Is fear a sin?
Blasphemous.
No doubt we are on The Road to Ruin.
Hall and Wuerhl are hardcore leftist Catholic leaders and they are wrecking the Catholic church in DC.
Time for the Pope to do a lot of house-cleaning around here.
Their is a very good word in Yiddish to describe Hall - it is “SCHMUCK”.
Another Jewish word for Wuerhl is “Ganza Schmuck” (Big Schmuck).
I think you get the picture.
“me thinks the heretic speaks for himself (and some like him) and does not represent the people of the pews.”
Oh, but he does represent the people in the pews. Back in the mids 80s, the then bishop of the diocese and the cathedral Dean banned a very traditional and orthodox prayer book group from even worshipping inside the building. Since then, apostasy has reigned supreme there and throughout the Episcopal Church.
Church of What’s Happnin’ Now.
National Cathedral - sounds very much like a Church/State problem.
“A tornado needs to hit the church steeple.”
Did you know an earthquake caused considerable damage to the Cathedral in August, 2011? Next one might bring it down.
I don’t how much you know about the Gospels nachum but trust me
If folks think this homosexual stuff is bad they should read his bloviating about the Gospels, salvation and the trinity...especially the Holy Ghost and/or Holy Spirit
this man is apostate in THE MOST IMPORTANT ways
it’s deplorable
he is doing the work of whom we both know to fear
He should be a Unitarian
Actually, I have some knowledge of them.
Judaism also has it’s ‘problem children’ as well :(
In my entire life I have never ever ever wished ill or harm on anybody. I have to consider making an exception here.
Dear Lord, show you power and wisdom, I can’t exist in a world made of such filth.
That includes the ECA, ELCA, PCUSA, UCC and several Methodist sects. Don't think that your particular conservative congregation can buck the rules when the entire structure is rotted. You are feeding the evil if you do.
Maybe nominally, but it is pretty much ecumenical, to avoid the appearance of a state-sponsored religion.
Just as bad.
