U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent is among 14 House Republicans who have publicly said they would vote for a “clean” continuing resolution—not tied to defunding Obamacare—and he says there are plenty more.

Dent, appearing Monday on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” said that members have told him privately they would vote for a “clean CR” if it comes up for a vote.

A total of 217 representatives are needed to pass the resolution. Other reports show 20 or more Republicans promising to vote for a clean continuing resolution. …

It always amazes me how easily Republicans adopt the left’s language. I wonder if they’re even aware how it puts them behind the eight ball.

In this case it’s the word “clean” bill (clean CR), which automatically leaves the impression to all the low information (i.e. ignorant) voters that what the republicans are offering must be a “dirty” bill.

So they willingly start with two strikes against themselves. What fools!

“Clean” CR.

I love how that word has become part of the lexicon.

Reminds me of when the Democrats were completely out of power and assumed the mantle of the “Loyal Opposition”.

Never hear that phrase nowadays do we? It’s in the dustbin containing Hillary’s famous “Dissent is Patriotic” screed.

If Dent and some of the more left leaning RINO’s in districts they think are primary proof (can beat conservative challengers) vote for a CR, it allows Boehner and a lot of other GOPe congressman look good with their NO votes.

Then Boehner and the GOPe can move on the next orders of business like increasing the debt ceiling and amnesty.

This has always been a GOPe problem. Messaging. They accept the idea of a “clean bill” and then go on talk shows, claiming they don’t support a “clean bill”.

Well, half the battle is lost. WE must control the vocabulary. Just like a woman’s right to choice. Instead it should be a baby right to die without a choice.

The GOP needs to learn to get out AHEAD of a story and frame it, instead of being reactionary, and then trying to do damage control.

The MSM sets the vernacular, and we just happily follow along.

They should be refusing to pass ANY continuing resolution, and instead pass a resolution demanding that the Senate do its job, and vote on a budget. No budget, no funding. Then adjourn until the Senate capitulates.

Dent is going for the short-term gain of preserving himself for 2014, while screwing the country for the long term.

“Just like a woman’s right to choice.”

Could reward to read: “Just like a woman’s right to kill”.

Good job, Dent. Go on cable tv and spit on freedom.

You love Obamacare, Dent? You’re showing it.

Wtf is a CR? No wonder republicans lose in public opinion polls. Speak in terms that the average joe can understand. They are really out of touch with voters IMO.

Completely agree. The contest is won at the point where the terms of the debate are established. After that, the loser is just trying to catch up or react. Low information voters don’t decide based on the merit of the argument, but the APPEARENCE of merit.

Who wouldn’t want to vote for a “clean” bill? Clean is good, right?

The GOP hasn’t taken their message to the American people very effectively.

"Send him an e-mail, I just did. All you have to do is make sure that the city is Allentown, PA and the ZIP is 18104 so he thinks you are a constituent. Already got his “canned” response to the effect that “he takes all correspondence seriously.” I hope so, because I was questioning the location of his spine among other things."

Wish him the best of Obamacare for his lack of a spine and his shedding of his snake skin - take the blue pill and chant Obama.

Not so fast... last week Sean had on 4 of these so called cavers and none of them will cave. There are less republicans in the House willing to sell out America for their communist constituents than the dims say. This is psyops or at least up until now it has been. These traitors that do vote with the rats will pay a heavy price. Once the conservatives take over... these turncoats should just retire because they have no role left beyond their single vote.

That is why they say “if we could get a clean vote”. The only question is will boehner cave. If he does... it will be his last cave because 2014 will see him defeated.

Yes, that is how they have operated for decades but enough of us know the truth now and that action will be met the same as surrender.

He would vote if it came up for a vote.

Problem is, it won’t.
