Republican Rep. Brenda Barton of Payson compared President Barack Obama to Adolph Hitler on her Facebook page Monday in a post urging county sheriffs to revoke authority from the National Parks Service “thugs” who are enforcing the federal shutdown on national parks lands.
“Someone is paying the National Park Service thugs overtime for their efforts to carry out the order of De Fuhrer… where are our Constitutional Sheriffs who can revoke the Park Service Rangers authority to arrest??? Do we have any Sheriffs with a pair?” she wrote.

I don’t think we should be doing that. It minimizes and dilutes the true horror that Nazism was. In my mind, someone really has to go over the top to a true level of evil, like an Idi Amin, Bin Laden, or Assad before you should make that comparison.

When translating German it is necessary to remember that nouns may have multiple meanings and that translations must be based on context to avoid subtle shifts in meaning.

Obama and Hitler are completely different. One is a socialist petty tyrant who hates Jews and Americans and doesn’t care how much damage his policies do to the country he has adopted and then through questionable means gained ultimate power over. He seems to be planning for millions to live in misery under Obamacare and many will be asked to take the pill.
His mysterious charisma is like Hitler’s, he has the IRS set up to enforce his nasty business, he’s against Israel and Christians, he has his own symbol, he wanted to have a large paramilitary youth under his control equal to the military, he doesn’t care what the rest of the government or the People say, he will do things his way.
He’s not exactly like Hitler (yet), but it’s difficult to deny that there are a few similarities.
