Gosh, you sure have to read down a ways to find out her name: Lisa Fritsch. Not in the headline, not in the lead. And this is someone who's notable, because she's on television frequently, according to the article. You don't suppose the DMN was trying to avoid giving a black, conservative woman some more name recognition, do you?

It was a high-level editorial decision not to make the headline: "TV personality Lisa Fritsch announces for governor on GOP line." That's how the story was turned in, betcha.

Radio host and political commentator Lisa Fritsch announced on Tuesday that she was running for governor of Texas.

Fritsch will be challenging Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, Larry Kilgore and Mariam Martinez for the Republican nomination. Last week Democrat Wendy Davis announced her plans to run for governor as did Libertarian Kathy Glass.

Supporters gathered Tuesday morning at a north Austin restaurant. Fritsch intends to launch a grassroots campaign and promised to avoid using extreme rhetoric in order to appeal to voters who usually sit out mid-term elections.

Well, I did have it posted until I hit the preview button and it automatically said DMN must be excerpted. Her name is Lisa Fritsch. She is a regular sub on KLBJ, the Austin talk radio station. Pro life, pro 2nd amendment, anti illegal immigration, etc.

Yup, the just us bros will be in Texas next week to tell Aunt Jemima to get herself back on the plantation.

BTW, she just called into KLBJ, and I didn't recognize her voice until one of the hosts said, "I know Lisa, when you sub for me, there is little dissension here".

I don’t think she can win, but I’d hate to see her sail into the Nov election without getting roughed up a bit in the primary.

I do not think she can win either. But I do not want a nasty election either. Last time we had one we lost quite a number of our own. Henry Bonilla being one. I had worked for his campaign for awhile and liked him alot. He was not one to turn nasty ever...based on advice by a newcomer to his campaign..he took some bad advice and let the campaign turn really nasty. It was so unlike him....and he lost his seat. I was so sorry to see it happen. He was one of the good guys.
