Good. If I can’t carry, then off duty cops shouldn’t either. Cops are NOT better than us!

So does the NFL trump state laws? Especially in public financed stadiums?

Bingo....and BTW...there IS armed security at NFL games...

I actually can see their point on a couple items...and since this has been in place for 12 years it must not have been a big deal...

So does the NFL trump state laws?

That same ruling was issued by a private firm (Six Flags amusements parks). It was quickly reversed here in Texas.

the fun part for me was on 2 occasions when he was stationed at Palmer Park (had barn there also) he rode his horse home for lunch and tied it to the fence in the back yard...our home was close to Palmer Park (big city park) and another time on my way to school, dad and another mounted man was riding down our street to go and vote at the poll near us.....that was in the late 40’s....he passed at the age of 87.

Did you hear that, crazy people? Football stadiums are gun free zones.

Maybe they just realized that a drunk cop excited at a game might be dangerous and just want to level the field.
God knows we have seen what can happen with some of the sober ones.

Guess the only folks carrying firearms in NFL stadiums from now on will be lawbreakers.

But, hey, what harm could they do?

What??! With all those thugs running around on the field, they want unarmed off-duty cops?

No...unless it is written in the stadium deal with the team....which probably is the case with NFL owners in Taxpayer Funded stadiums. The teams are franchisees....and must comply without NFL rules

States need to pass laws to counter NFL

Actually, if the NFL does not allow a regular citizen to be armed, I don’t see the reason why and off-duty LEO should be able to carry either.

Not true in all departments and agencies. They ‘can’ carry, but it is also not mandated in all cases. In some cases, as in drinking off duty, they are required to keep their weapons locked up.

I stopped watching the National Felon League long ago and this only cements that decision. Screw them.

Wonder what the NFL’s reaction will be if or when the first shooting occurs inside a stadium during a game and the police are forced to run and hide with the spectators, rather than confront the perpetrator with weapons of their own.

Unless the NFL owns the stadiums in question, they’re blowing smoke.

I concur with FReeper AAABEST and many others on this forum -- rights, including firearms rights, are to be possessed by all or none. Cops are not gods, and wearing a badge doesn't mean they can shoot any better than Joe Six-pack. And that is not the criteria in any case.

GOOD!! If the peasants can’t defend themselves why should the government thugs be able to.

Sounds good to me. If I can’t carry there, they shouldn’t be able to either. Sauce, goose, meet gander.
