A new poll indicates more Americans blame Republicans for the partial government shutdown than blame Democrats, while the approval rating for lawmakers is appallingly low.

A poll released Wednesday by the Associated Press and GfK shows some 62 percent of more than 1,000 people surveyed said Republicans are to blame for the government shutdown that began last Tuesday, while about half of the respondents said the Democrats or U.S. President Barack Obama bore the greater share of responsibility.

Approval for members of Congress was all the way down to 5 percent.

If this poll were true, then the GOP-e would have folded by now.

This is a scare tactic. The libs are getting very scared and desparate because this ‘shutdown’ is not working and obamacare is proving to be a complete disaster.

AP and VOA are practically the same thing. We have no independent news media.

The single biggest thing that perpetuates the problems created in Washington DC is the propaganda machine of the democrats known as the media.

Their assignment this month is to blame the Republicans, TEA party, and Ted Cruz, while deflecting anything that looks too closely at Obama’s, Reid’s and the democrats’ role in all this mess.

This poll is just part of that effort.

Unfortunately, I do believe it. The democrat media does its job very well, and a lot of people believe them to the hilt.

“while about half of the respondents said the Democrats or U.S. President Barack Obama bore the greater share of responsibility”

“about half”? Why won’t they say a number?

According to the AP, Obama’s approval rating is down to 37 percent. However they buried that number in a story about Republicans being blamed for the shutdown.

help me with my math here:

Associated Press and GfK shows some 62 percent of more than 1,000 people surveyed said Republicans are to blame for the government shutdown that began last Tuesday, while about half of the respondents said the Democrats or U.S. President Barack Obama bore the greater share of responsibility.

doesn't that equal about 112% of respondents???

“62 percent of more than 1,000 people surveyed said Republicans are CREDITED for the government shutdown”

There, fixed it.

“Blame” is a biased word. If the Republicans are responsible for it, the word I would pick is “credit”. The Republicans deserve credit for taking a stand (finally).

The Democrats are responsible for the government being broken and needing to be shut down.

The same poll has Obama’s approval at an abyssmal 37%, that is about where George W. Bush was his last year. This poll is certainly NOT good news for the Whitehouse.

37%?????

That’s below the level that would typically support Democrats who are rounding THEM up for the camps.

Blame or Get Credit? They should only care about their voters who are for it.

It’s 5 percent approval of Congress but 95 percent approval for their own members. The American people are always predictable.

Having a single approval rating for all of Congress is silly.

I approve of those that are fighting Obama.

I agree. How can you have an approval number for the entire congress. It needs to be the individual person in congress that needs to be polled.

If I survive, it will not be by my own might. I refuse to hide away in fear, but I am aware and prepared. I cannot turn away from obligations to others. I would rather stand up and out than hide away like that coward bin laden, cowering, hiding and running. Just not me. I have told my family all my life, bury me in my combat boots. I don’t see any honor in merely saving myself. Even an evil dictator massacre in chief does that.
