TUSAYAN, Ariz. (AP) — Nearly two dozen people have been issued citations for entering Grand Canyon National Park after a partial government shutdown forced its closure.
Grand Canyon Chief Ranger Bill Wright says some people have been caught at the South Rim, on trails, attempting rim-to-rim hikes or trying to sneak in through dirt roads.
All of the citations will be handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Wright says each of the 21 citations issued as of Monday has a mandatory order to appear in federal court.

I think its time for the states to retake their lands or force the feds to pay taxes. Here in Michigan, state owned land pays local taxes.
And let me add- I was carrying concealed every time I made the half hour plus trip to Safeway, a woman alone, through lots of park land, desolate areas. Gabby picked the wrong day and the wrong Safeway. People know OPSEC and who to share what with. The .gov, for all of it’s “intelligence” is dumb as a brick.

If the Feds have decided to deny citizens access to parks we’ve paid for, why are we still sending them taxes? This would be equivalent to hiring someone to renovate your kitchen, who takes your money, demands more, then locks you out of your own house.
It’s time for the States to stop payment to the Feds.
Also remembered- those who actually lived “in the village” were pretty much viewed as sheeple/ gov borgs. They’d crossed over to the other side. Pretty small village considering what surrounds it.

Very good question. Is Fedzilla now so large and omnipresent that no state or official is willing to oppose them? (Although Governor Walker seems willing to keep open some state lands in Wisconsin, I read.)

I’m thinking that the working rangers are just really pissed that they’re not home playing video games like their co-workers and are taking their anger out on anybody they can. Make it hurt.
Start suing every Fedgov person personally who harasses Americans over this pain politics for violating our civil rights. Its not trespassing; its conduct that is protected first amendment protest speech.

If the feds were required to pay for land they have locked up, especially in the West, there would be an unbelievable land sale, as there aren’t enough printing presses to sustain the cost vs land value.
In some cases they do pay, but they are woefully late making those payments which are used to support schools where there are military bases using the local school facilities with those living on base not paying property taxes. There is a name for those payments that escapes me at the moment.
Regarding those who are now being cited for trespassing, it will be really interesting to sit in on the court proceedings when those cited attempt to make the “this is my land” case before an unsympathetic federal judge. I recently sat through a sentencing of a local doctor given a five year term in federal prison by a jury not of his peers. It was a railroad to prison IMHO, and the judge was only too typical in the long winded castigation of the doctor. The case involved tax issues in which other doctors on the same retirement plan have been exonerated.

Being unfamiliar with that “Proscription of Communist Party” law you quoted above, I googled it. And there it is, just like you said.
No citation for crossing a US border illegally...in fact those people are compensated...but cross a federal border and going Into a fed park (already OWNED by those crossing it) and they are or penalized? If we don’t start pushing back, then we deserve the loss of our country.
