Trolling, as generally defined by Internet, involves deliberately provoking others into outrage with over-the-top, often cynical or sarcastic rhetoric. Like his politics or not, Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) has become something of a congressional expert on trolling his opponents. Todays example only further serves to cement that reputation.
In a clearly unserious press release Tuesday morning, Stockmans office invited fake ObamaCare enrollee Chad Henderson to be his guest at Januarys State of the Union Address. Henderson, as you may recall, became the media poster boy for Obamacare enrollment after he boasted about having signed up for the healthcare exchange. However, a Reason interview with his father contradicted many details of his story and provoked Chad to clarify that he had not yet actually purchased a plan.
Chad Henderson is ObamaCare personified. He pushed ObamaCare on other people but refused to buy it himself because he would pay more. Hes practically a Democrat member of Congress, said Stockman. I hope Chad will join me at the State of the Union Address so Obama can point to someone who personifies his policies.
He claims he cant afford health insurance but hes a four-figure donor to Obama, the congressman added. I know Obama cant wait to personally meet this dedicated supporter. Im proud to give him the opportunity.
Henderson has not yet accepted his invitation, concludes the press statement.

KEY LINE:
“He claims he cant afford health insurance but hes a four-figure donor to Obama,
It’s too bad everyone in the non-Fax mainstream media is too afraid to call the administration, and their nutso supporters, out on these lies.
Stockman is a juggernaut.
Stockman is a juggernaut.
That’s edgy.
Jack Brooks had been in Congress 42 years when Stockman beat him in ‘94.
I still fail to see how this is ‘trolling’.
There is NOTHING ‘over-the-top’. There is only pointing out the obvious. Wait. Yes, I do see where my logic went off the rails now w/ the MSM/etc.
Excuse me for bringing in logic and debate....I don’t KNOW what I was thikning
Go Stockman! I just hope he has some savvy Palinoid help these days. He was kinda all alone back then.
Well, he was considered a fluke upset winner in a Democrat-leaning district (similar to Michael Patrick Flanagan in Chicago, who knocked off Dan Rostenkowski). As with Flanagan, he lost reelection in 1996 (Flanagan lost to the infamous Rod Blagojevich and Stockman to Nick Lampson).
The district Stockman is in today, is not entirely the same one he won back in ‘94 (this one today having added more rural GOP counties and excised the more problematic areas of Jefferson County, such as Beaumont and Port Arthur, which were placed in the more marginal 14th district, won by freshman Republican Randy Weber over the aforementioned ex-Congressman Nick Lampson), should remain in his hands for as long as he wants it (any threat he’d face would likely be more in a GOP primary than from a Democrat).
