We can deduce that she has copulated with 1 to 15 partners (they don’t deserve the title of men or even males).

What are the odds that her actual total is closer to 15 than 1?

And does this confirm the human male as the most desperate creature on the planet?

Aw, they ruined it by claiming one man fathered 10 of them. But I still don’t believe it.

Those poor kids are off to a miserable start. In this case it really will take a village.

Discussion between Charles Ingalls, a pioneer father, and his daughter about God’s care for us and our responsibility to care for ourselves, and the interrelation of our responsibility and our freedom.

Pa was shaking his head. “We’re going to have a hard winter,” he said, not liking the prospect.

“Why, how do you know?” Laura asked in surprise.

“The colder the winter will be, the thicker the muskrats build the walls of their houses, “ Pa told her.

“I never saw a heavier-built muskrat’s house than that one.”

Laura looked at it again. It was very solid and big. But the sun was blazing, burning on her shoulders through the faded, thin, calico and the hot wind was blowing, and stronger than the damp-mud smell of the slough was the ripening smell of grasses parching in the heat. Laura could hardly think of ice and snow and cruel cold.

“Pa, how can the muskrats know?” she asked.

“I don’t know how they know,” Pa said. “But they do. God tells them, somehow, I suppose.”

“The why doesn’t God tell us?” Laura wanted to know. “Because,” said Pa, “we’re not animals. We’re humans, and like it says in the Declaration of Independence, God created us free. That means we got to take care of ourselves.” Laura said faintly, “I thought God takes care of us.”

“He does,” Pa said, “so far as we do what’s right. And He gives us a conscience and brains to know what’s right. But He leaves it to us to do as we please. That’s the difference between us and everything else in creation.”

“Can’t muskrats do what they please?” Laura asked, amazed.

“No,” said Pa. “I don’t know why they can’t but you can see they can’t. Look at that muskrat house. Muskrats have to build that kind of house. They always have and they always will. It’s plain they can’t build any other kind. But folks build all kinds of houses. A man can build any kind of house he can think of. So if his house don’t keep out the weather, that’s his look-out; he’s free and independent.”

Pa stood thinking for a minute, then he jerked his head. “Come along, little Half-Pint. We better make hay while the sun shines.”

Laura Ingalls Wilder, The Long Winter, Chapter 1,Harper Trophy, Copyright 1940.

It’s amazing how far the thinking in our country has descended as we have moved further and further from belief and knowledge of the Bible. Now, people would rather be slaves than free and independent, would rather be told what to do and "taken care of" by someone else, would rather forcibly take money from others via the government rather than provide themselves. It used to be only criminals thought that way, now entire large portions of our population think it’s ok. People in Laura Ingalls day would have been mortified and ashamed to say such things.

From the update link...

“Adams was upset because she was pregnant again and she was worried about her unborn child.”

If ever there were a case for forced sterilization, this woman would be it!

—Everyone who thinks this way should be loaded on a boat to the Worker’s Paradise North Korea.—

Actually, the People’s Republic [snicker] of China has a great program already that keeps this kind of thing [15 kids] from happening...and since we’re all paying for abortions whether we like it or not, it’s just a matter of time before someone suggests forcible abortion or sterilization in this country...and why not? Every other obscene idea is taken seriously nowadays.

Tick, tick, tick.

I doubt that would happen, too damaging to the production of future Democrat voters, no?

Doesn’t matter. If i’m paying for your healthcare and 15 kids are too expensive, well, too bad, I get my vote.

It seems to me that the detractors are the ones who are racist.

Correct. The same happened when he referred to vicious individuals as savages. The same detractors assumed "black" and called him racist. Savage refers to BEHAVIOR, not to color, but leftists don't see it.

We blacks have to break this cycle on our own. We have to decide it doesn’t work and there are better choices.

From your keyboard to God's eyes. It used to be "from your lips to God's ear", but now we've got technology...

I was appalled at the time all of these children were left in her care with NO FOOD, SHOES, one room ect. Where the hell was child care services!!!!

Children can't be taken away from a parent because the family is poor or lacking assets or even homeless. Now, if there is money and it is being spent on something else (frivolous or drugs), or there is abuse, or there is denial of medical care, that is something else. But we don't want social services to swoop in and remove children because of limited means. If you permit that you have opened the door to all kinds of mandatory compliance with state defined rules including ones that will conflict with traditional, conservative and religious upbringing.
