I believe CK indicated that that ACA should just be funded, let it go and watch it all collapse.

I disagree with the approach as the last time I checked it is not a majority government situation. The HoR has leverage and should use that leverage.

If the GOP caves, yet again, maybe this time we can just ignore them for good. The Republicns by and large are a very confused lot and generally not fit to lead.

2011 Budget Control Act

*********
A complete farse. More feel good legislation that accomplishes nothing except to fool a gullible populace — again and again.

I disagree completely with that approach. 0bamacare (I refuse to call it “ACA” because it is neither affordable nor care) will become permanently entrenched into the fabric of our society with it’s own army of bureaucrats, dependents, and surrounding businesses before it collapses. The cry will be to “fix it” with ever increasing sums of money, rather than to junk it.

That’s the way it always works. I suspect Charles knows this.

Charles Krauthammer is not now and has never been a “Conservative”.

What is Rand Paul’s stance on this? Is he joining these Senate GOP elitists in folding or is he still firmly on Ted Cruz’s side at least on this?

I haven’t seen any statement but found this.

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/10/09/christian-conservatives-to-meet-cruz-and-rand-paul/?_r=0

“A group of longtime Christian conservative activists are holding a private meeting Thursday in Washington to hear informal presentations from two of the most talked-about potential Republican presidential candidates: Senators Ted Cruz of Texas, and Rand Paul of Kentucky.

“This is not a fundraiser, nor an endorsement of U.S. Senator Rand Paul or U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, just a great opportunity for you to get to know them and discuss your ideas and views with them and hear of their lives, faith, and respective vision for our nation,” wrote Robert Fischer, a South Dakota-based conservative organizer, in an emailed invitation to dozens of evangelical Christian leaders.

The gathering is being held in conjunction with the Family Research Council’s Values Voters conference, an annual gathering of Christian conservatives in Washington, but it is not an official part of that event. Rather, it is being staged by a loosely-organized group of Republican leaders that call themselves “Conservatives of Faith.”

The hosts include Tony Perkins, the head of the Family Research Council, the former presidential candidate Gary Bauer, the conservative talk show host Janet Parshall and Richard Viguerie, the direct mail pioneer, along with a handful of others from the conservative movement. Mr. Fischer is the group’s chief organizer......................”

People are way, way too wrapped up in the ballgame aspects of this, and are not paying attention to the legitimacy issue (this means you, John Boehner).

The House of Representatives exists for one simple reason - to embody the will of the People, to exercise their RIGHT of self-government, and as a sub-purpose TO CONTROL TAXATION AND SPENDING. They are elected every two years for a reason, and that reason is to ACCURATELY REFLECT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IN A TIMELY MANNER.

THIS PARTICULAR HOUSE was elected in response to Obamacare. It was elected by the People, not by “Tea Party anarchists” or “arsonists”, and it was elected for a specific reason, which was to overturn and undo an act of the previous House, which was thereby clearly and convincingly shown, in the only available non-bloody way, to NOT be the will of the People.

NO ACTOR IN THIS DRAMA IS MORE LEGITIMATE THAN THE GOP MAJORITY IN THE HOUSE. Not the Senate, not the President, certainly not the Supreme Court.

Yes, the People can and do change their minds. Yes, the People may, as a result of what is happening now, kick out the GOP and return the House to the communists.

But, in the meantime, NO ONE has more right than the House majority to stand their ground and do what the sovereign sent them there to do.

Well, it IS The Hill LOL!

The article doesn’t cite enough traitors for Harry to stop the House from raising the debt ceiling.

They know what they’re talking about in the article will lose them seats in the Senate next year so unless there’s something a whole lot better in the works nothing will come of this.

Did you see Rand Paul arguing with Dick Durbin on the Senate floor yesterday? It’s on Rand’s YouTube channel. Rand floated an idea that sounded close to the one described in the article. However, the new continuing resolution would make the sequester a little big bigger than the current sequester. I think Paul is involved in the negotiations, at some level. It will be interesting to see where he lands.
