Senate Republicans met with President Obama for more than 90 minutes on Friday, as lawmakers search for a breakthrough agreement that could end the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling.

Like House Republicans the night before, the GOP senators departed the White House without speaking to reporters. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) tweeted shortly after the meeting that it was a "very good discussion."

"Nothing obvious decided, but hope," he tweeted. "I'm surprised there may be progress."

It’s what GOP Rino’s do. It’s all they know. It’s in their political DNA.

McC doesn’t need a summit for surrender. His middle name is “Surrender”. Actually it’s Mitchell. People in KY believe in the surrender.

Apparently “opening discussions” isn’t the same as negotiating, because our bloviator in chief said he’d never negotiate. Must be the same as all those other negotiations that he said “never in history” happened... except for... you know... every time the House was held by a different party.

“Never”... “Always”... mere symantic differences.

Genius...
First the Repubs make the Dems mad at them by standing up to the Dems.
Then the Repubs make the Repub base mad at them by folding like a cheap suit...yet again.

Making both your enemies AND friends mad at you is strategy?

One might think the Repub leadership are really covert Obama/Dem agents with the mission of demoralizing Repubs and destroying the Repub Party.

Even a stopped clock gets it right twice a day.
All the Repub leadership has done is cave, cave and cave.

They had a strong hand...due to Obamacare’s unpopularity...strongest hand in years, and they surrender...on vague promise of cutting the (far more popular) entitlements.

Truly the Repub leadership loaded all 6 chambers before playing Russian Roulette.

I need a barf bag....

Obama has made me ashamed to be an American.
Boner/McBendover & Company have made me ashamed to be a Repub.

The RINOs do not know how FURIOUS the American people really are.

If they did, they would be trembling with fear.

By the fact that the clock never is right must tell you that this is done by design. Just part of the corrupt "Two-Party Cartel". We can't win with a 3rd party & we can't win with a faction that ALWAYS collaborates with the other.

Its all but over. The GOP is in total cave mode. They are not going to get anything after all this foo for all. They should have just caved in the beginning.
