King Defends Israel in Extraordinary House Debate (Michael Scheuer)
Hamodia Torah Jewry ^ | Oct 10, 2013 | Yochonon Donn

WASHINGTON - Taking on one of the United States’ most prominent Israel critics Wednesday, Rep. Peter King, a New York Republican who is mulling a presidential run, defended the special relationship with Israel as essential for U.S. security.

The sparring came when, at a Homeland Security Committee hearing on the threat posed by Somali al-Qaida affiliate Al Shabaab, former CIA al-Qaida analyst Michael Scheuer said that al-Qaida would leave the U.S. alone if they were to abandon their alliance with Israel.

“If it was up to me I’d dump the Israelis tomorrow,” Scheuer said. “All I worry about is the continuing preaching of American politicians to the American people that our relationship with the Israelis doesn’t cause us to have dead Americans and extraordinary expenses in fighting the Muslim world.”

Interrupting Scheuer, King said that he believed the opposite, that al-Qaida’s grievances with the West are hundreds of years old and they would not stop their jihad against the United States even if it abandoned Israel.

“I think there’d be more of a cost if we stopped what we’re doing,” King said.

Scheuer told King that he was not the person to debate this, since as a member of the Republican party he was “presiding over a bankruptcy,” referencing the current fiscal crisis.

“What can be worse? And what has been the goal of al-Qaida since it was formed? To bankrupt the United States. Who’s winning today, sir? We’re done like dinner,” Scheuer said, who claimed that the U.S. military was “defeated” in Iraq and Afghanistan.

An ice cube in hell has less chance of melting than this Progressive getting the nomination!

Sometimes, I think Scheuer s been dropped on his head too many times. He definitely has no love, or like, for Israel.

From Wiki (citations omitted)...

King compared the leader of Sinn Féin, the political wing of the PIRA, Gerry Adams to George Washington, and asserted that the "British government is a murder machine"... However, he did not meet Adams until 1984.

Sums Mister King up quite up, eh what?

“former CIA al-Qaida analyst Michael Scheuer said that al-Qaida would leave the U.S. alone if they were to abandon their alliance with Israel.”

Apparently there is a damned good reason for him being a “former” analyst, I just can’t figure how someone this stupid was ever a current analyst.

Odd that y’all have more concern about King than Scheuer.

Focus, try to focus.

Okay, focusing...focusing...there, got it.

Title of article...

King Defends Israel in Extraordinary House Debate (Michael Scheuer)

And, from the lead sentence in the article...

Taking on one of the United States’ most prominent Israel critics Wednesday, Rep. Peter King, a New York Republican who is mulling a presidential run...

Well gollllieee. This article is (arguably) more about King, n'est ce pas?

(Thanks for the nice lecture, however.)

Peter King is a New York RINO who, like all of them, takes a few positions conservatives can agree with, like standing up for the Israel-U.S. alliance, but is mostly to the left, as his current eagerness to fund Obamacare demonstrates. I suspect the RNC hierarchy may be considering King as a replacement for the obese and grating N.J. Governor Chris Christie in 2016. While King is a tad better choice he is hardly the person we need or want as the challenger to Hillary Clinton in ‘16. We’ve had enough RINO candidates to last us the rest of the 21st century.

“Scheuer told King that he was not the person to debate this, since as a member of the Republican party he was “presiding over a bankruptcy,” referencing the current fiscal crisis.”

Tells me all I need to know.

I wish somebody would have been there to say to him that the Muslims HAVE wanted to bankrupt America, and with the Muslim-in-Chief they are succeeding. Apparently with Scheuer’s blessing because he’s willing to tell the world it is the R’s, not Obama and the communist-Islamist alliance that illegally put him into power, who are destroying this country.

When will anybody ever have the guts to just come out and say it? Americans are waking up and realizing the emperor is not only naked but he’s the mistress of every freedom-hating communist and Muslim that ever walked. The freedom-loving Muslims in the Middle East have realized it and that’s why they have protested against Obama. Somebody needs to just finally come out and say it. And they should make sure to say that the media is the mistress of Obama and grovels to let him pimp them out to the freedom-haters too.

Time to call a spade a spade and let the chips fall where they will.

Exactly: how did an anti-Semitic leftist clown become a CIA analyst?

I mean, it's almost as though some left-wing bastard affirmative action recipient with dual citizenship and a long friendship with domestic terrorists could be elected President or something./s

Scheuer’s CIA career started in the early-mid 80’s, and he was chief of the OBL Desk under Clinton.

Then special advisor to his successor, lol

King supported every bailout, TARP, medicare part d, iraq, Afghanistan, dhs, school loans, etc. Did he not?

Yes, we are broke, nor should be abandon Israel. But, that does not take away Rep. King's oversight of our demise fiscally.

We have been broke for years, and part of the problem is the GOP.

Aside from his postion on Israel, Peter King is probably the dumbest COngressman in Washington - and THAT says a lot. Right now, with Joe Lieberman and “Dollar Bill” Bradley out of office, he has no competition.

Scheuer must not care that Muslims have an equal hatred for Christians? I bet more Christians are being martyred today than Muslims or anyone else.
