Georgia teen's organs missing, body stuffed with newspaper (George Zimmermann Alert)
WISTV.COM ^ | 10 Oct 2013 | Tony McNary

Attorney Benjamin Crump said he wants to bring national attention to Georgia after the death of 17-year-old Kendrick Johnson.

Crump is no stranger to the national spotlight. He represented Trayvon Martin's family and helped pushed for prosecution in that case.

A jury exonerated neighborhood watch George Zimmerman.

Crump is now representing Johnson's family.

The teen was found dead in his high school gym in January. His body was stuck upside down in a rolled-up wrestling mat.

Investigators with Lowndes County Sheriff's Office ruled his death accidental.

Today Crump joined Johnson's parents outside the Superior Courthouse in Lowndes County.

He called the death a murder and suggested calling it accidental is an insult to Johnson's family.

"It flies in the face of all common sense. So I stand here with Attorney King, proclaiming that we will solve this murder-mystery. We will get to the truth," said Crump.

In June, Johnson's parents were granted a court order to have his body exhumed for a second, independent autopsy.

"Kendrick was the light of the family. They didn't give my son any justice," said Kenneth Johnson.

Kenneth Johnson said he and his wife were horrified to learn their son's internal organs had been removed and his body was stuffed with newspapers.

"We have been let down again and when we buried Kendrick, we thought we were burying Kendrick, not half of Kendrick," said Johnson.

Which newspaper? What was the date of the paper? These are important questions.

"What’s wrong with giving him some reading materials while he is on a long trip to hell?"

I read the above article...could you lead me to the part where it describes what this child did, that was so bad, he deserves a "long trip to hell"?...I must have missed it...just askin'

People forget their children are in the car and leave them to die in a hot car.

“I thought YOU let KJ out”, “I thought YOU did”. OOPS!

Since the person alleging this happened is Crump, it would be highly unusual if it were true.

It happens. Sometimes your internal organs just pop out of your body and wind flies newspapers into the cavities. Hey, don't criticize the Lowndes County Sheriff's office. This happens all the time!

What makes them think that the ME stuffed the body with newspaper??? That could have been done by the funeral home director chosen by the family.

The funeral home would have or should have caught this when preparing the body for burial — why didn’t they??? — or were they the ones who removed the organs and sold them.

This is what happens when people get their ideas of forensic work from TV. Of course the organs are missing! That’s what happens in an autopsy! The brain is gone too, all sectioned up in thin little slices.

Dude. Maybe you should watch some TV forensics. The organs are always placed back in the body not freaking newspaper.

Some of the posts on this thread are disgusting. This boy was in SCHOOL... a wrestler and died. What did he do that would earn him a “quick trip to hell” and the like?

Feral isn’t only in the streets of our big cities. It can be often be found on the threads of FR.

The article is not clear: missing internal organs?

Missing at the scene?

Missing after the autopsy?

Missing after the funeral home finished prepping the body?

Doubtful missing at the scene as that would have been reported as part of the ‘grisly’ crime.

Missing after the autopsy, perhaps, but in that case the funeral home should have raised holy heck over missing body parts.

More likely missing after the funeral home finished with the body.

There have been many cases of funeral homes doing such things. . .and given the usual practice are blacks using a black-owned/run funeral home and whites using white owned/run funeral home, it is likely the black funeral home removed the internal organs.

Go ahead, crumpy-pants, keep looking for the criminal that removed the organs. . .keep looking and be sure to let us know what you find out. Be truthful . . .

When I read the original article at the time of the incident, it seems the kid expired by being “pinched” by the rolled up mats. It used to be a full mat is sectioned by 3. When it wad placed in its storage area, the three matts were stacked like a pyramid, and that’s how we did it as well. The child was, for some reason reaching behind one of the mats, it gave out, and he got caught in the schism. He was caught upside down and asphyxiaed, no one heard him, or saw him.Tough break.

I second that. It's sad when posts on FR are worse than anything you might read at the DUmp. What's even sadder is many of the people making these comments call themselves Christians. No wonder people are abandoning the Church...with role models like this.

More on the story here:

But Lowndes County Coroner Bill Watson said many of Johnson’s organs were deemed too badly decomposed to be preserved and had to be disposed of before the body was sent to the funeral home....

Harrington Funeral Home in Valdosta, which handled Johnson’s body, referred calls to attorney Roy Copeland. He said Johnson’s organs were missing when the body arrived at Harrington. He also said standard embalming practice is to fill empty space in body cavities with material such as sawdust or cotton.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/10/11/missing-organs-fuel-outcry-over-georgia-teen-gym-mat-death/?intcmp=trending

So it’s a non issue. The funeral home chosen by the family knew about the missing organs and they were the ones who probably put the newspaper in there, and if not, they knew that it was there.

What a horribly written article. It’s a shame that TV stations have to scrape the bottom of the journalism school to get writers.

First clue: Each paragraph is one sentence long.
Second clue: Who is “Attorney King?”
Third clue: Hugh lack of detail.
