Wow, that's too bad. Perhaps it is a hint for all the moochers to go get a job and put a kibosh on the years of freeloading.

I’m sure a lot of the people on food stamps would prefer not to be. There aren’t enough jobs to go around so many must stay on them.

That Hope and Change sure is working.

With all these suffering people out there, why do Liberals lock their Front doors?

Somehow, like a “temporary tax”, “temporary benefits” become permanent fixtures.

“Ay is INNN-titled” becomes an rallying cry.

Michelle Bearden who can't do without her food stamps. Maybe she can get the sperm donor to pay for his child instead of asking strangers to pay for her food.

It used to be true that moochers could get a job and that would take care of things, but these days, who's going to employ them? Companies are laying off rather than hiring people. (Thanks to the Usurper in Chief and his buddies and minions.)

The stimulus money has run out - in other words pay for play is now over. Obama’s supporters now have buyers remorse. Isn’t life grand when society starts to fall apart just because an elected moron of the personality cult has expended his capital and is in freefall. Obama demise is coming soon!

If your kids receive free meals at school, it should be deducted from your welfare check.

our schools offer 3 meals all year long. Amazing....we had to work and feed our kids all their meals.

The monthly benefits, which go to one in seven Americans, fluctuate based on factors including food prices, income and inflation.

Odd. That's precisely why I shop for fresh vegetables, fruits, name brand goods at 99-Cents Only stores.

There are stores like this all across the U.S. The Dollar Tree is similar but the ones I am familiar with have no fresh fruits and vegetables.

Isn't that just as good food stamps? Why not encourage free enterprise, Mr. President. Wot? Well of course not you.

Advice to young food stampers. Get yourself a good push mower. Heck, anything else that you can earn an occasional dollar with. Earn being the operational word. That is how most young boys and girls helped to feed themselves and their families in my day. The values given to us by our families and our communities did not encourage or permit thievery as a source of income.

Bearden should ask her husband for more money to feed his child.

Where’s the child support?

Despite being a ‘single mom’, she does seem to be doing a few things right, including living with her mother and sister to help save money and maybe with child care and holding down a full-time job.

But especially in pooling resources for a four-person household, $180+ ought to be more than enough to feed a woman and small child—let alone provide only ‘supplemental nutritional assistance’.

Does anybody know if food stamps are reduced for families whose kids are in the school breakfast/lunch program or is double dipping permitted.

“Bearden receives $195 each month, which would be reduced by 5 percent or $10 less from her monthly payout.”

So we’re still giving her $185/month...

“...the benefits that help put food on the table...”

And digital TVs in the homes, lobsters and steaks in the freezer, cash back for illegal drugs before shopping for groceries, blah, blah, blah. What a joke!
