Federal Health Exchange Sending Confusing Enrollment Information To Insurers

The federal health-care exchange that opened a dozen days ago is marred by snags beyond the widely publicized computer gridlock that has thwarted Americans trying to buy a health plan. Even when consumers have been able to sign up, insurers sometimes can’t tell who their new customers are because of a separate set of computer defects.

The problems stem from a feature of the online marketplace’s computer system that is designed to send each insurer a daily report listing people who have just enrolled. According to several insurance industry officials, the reports are sometimes confusing and duplicative. In some cases, they show — correctly or not — that the same person enrolled and canceled several times on a single day.

The ability of consumers to sign up for a health plan, and the ability of the insurers to know who they are covering, is key to the success of the federal law that will for the first time require most Americans to have health insurance starting Jan. 1. The Web site www.healthcare.gov is the main path for millions of Americans in 36 states to purchase new coverage.

The flawed enrollment reports illustrate that the site is bedeviled by problems that go beyond what the Obama administration has acknowledged in explaining the creaky performance of the exchange so far.

I look at it this way. We have tens, maybe hundreds (ha)of part-time, low skill level people now signing up for ObamaDontCare betting on getting health insurance at ‘little or no cost’ to them! Also some of the disillusioned more well off do-gooders hoping to reap the reward for their progressive vote.

Bad mistake, since the ones that will only get a deal are the ones already on entitlement programs too numerous to name, and they won’t have to sign up for sh!t cuz the government will work it all out for them - just like they take care of everything else.

It’s just like the old saying “the SECOND mouse gets the cheese.”

Yes, let it burn. And if it cannot be defunded it should be 100% implemented with no exceptions, delays, or waivers, on all.

There should be a huge outcry otherwise, to ensure everyone knows the law no longer applies equally to all.

Maybe this is why the Lord broke up work on the Tower of Babel and sent everyone on their way. Maybe he knows something Obama doesn’t—that one size doesn’t fit all and world-wide superstructures SHOULD NOT exist for darned good reasons.

Let’s hope he comes and knocks this one down.

Obama sort of reminds me of another biblical personality.

I get pretty steamed when I see these idiot OFA employees who hang out in the Wash Post comments section say “this is why we need single payer”.

No. You forced THIS on us. You own THIS. It will be THIS that we are stuck with for the time being. Your next great idea will have to wait until we’re done with THIS.
