Recently I got a letter in the mail from the health insurer through which I have coverage as a small business owner. The letter began:
"Starting Jan. 1, 2014, we will no longer offer or renew the individual health benefit plan you currently have. We're making this change because of requirements from the new health care reform law, called the Affordable Care Act."
After spending a long time with the representative on the phone as he fumbled around trying to figure out how to price a replacement plan, I suggested he call me back when he had the information. He finally agreed and the lengthy call, thankfully, ended. About an hour later, I got the expected call back and with bad news -- a comparable replacement plan was going to cost a whopping 75 percent more -- yes, that's right -- 75 percent more than I was currently paying.

Plus $7-$12K/yr out of pocket costs.
And don't forget the added costs coming down the pike. Amnesty won't come cheap.
We have a window of opportunity to do great damage to the amnesty push. While people are in shock over what Obamacare has done to their health costs they will be receptive to discussion of how much more it will soon cost. They should be reminded that those costs will be greatly increased with tens of millions of illegals granted amnesty and added to the rolls of freeloading ObamaCare recipients.
Past, current and future anchor babies will kill us in the near term, but amnesty and resultant chain migration will wipe us out sooner.

“”If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.”

but but but, he never mentioned at what cost!
BTW, now we see why some insurance companies were so committed to this law. Remember, in DC, money talks and BS walks.
If there are concerns now about illegal immigrant crime; societal impact; medical and health impacts related to heretofore extinct diseases, new diseases and a general stress on our emergency medical system’ government entitlements impact, local impact on school resources and local impacts on jobs and charitable resources; just wait until this new throng of ‘new citizens’ unleash their mass-chain migration plan. Mexico will be empty, and we will be supporting the entire third world.
Until they suck us dry and we look just like the home they just left.
It’s gonna take some time to rape and pillage all the wealth out of this country. And, they will get an armed response that will eventually breaks out when all the 401Ks, IRAs, etc. are confiscated to give to Mexicans and no-goods.
Democrats have a plan to do incrementally, but there will be a tipping point from which things will devolve quickly.
BEST comment ever, UCANSEE2! Post of the day! This is sidebar worthy on its own! LOL!
We simply can’t afford that sort of increase and I’m betting most can’t either. We won’t qualify for a subsidy and I’ll wager that an Obamacare plan won’t be much if any cheaper. I have no idea what we’re going to do.
BTW, our insurance rep sounds much like what this guy is reporting. He’s a really good guy but he simply can’t tell us much because they aren’t being given any answers either. I have to call him back in about a month, that’s where we had to leave it.
