Veterans from every branch of the military have a message for our government. The message will be delivered in person at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, in Washington, D.C. and at war memorials all across the nation.
The Million Vet March on the Memorials is a grassroots movement started by five military brats, a term used to describe children of military members, to honor the nation's veterans.

Army Brat 1st Class here. 1953 to 1967. My dad was Special Forces in Vietnam. He was a Lt. Col. when he retired after thirty years. He’s 83 now, and still one of the most patriotic people I know.

Earlier, heard the truckers were going to have lunch, re-group and come back, but haven’t heard anything in a while.
Had to turn off their audio feed for a while, they (or at least the host) don’t seem to like Gov Palin and Sen Cruz too much. Seemed they thought they were doing a bit of grandstanding for political purposes (my words, not theirs, but I think that’s what they meant, at least how I heard it). I thought it was great that Cruz, Palin and Lee were at the memorials with the Vets and were the 1st to remove the Barrycades. I give them a lot of credit for standing with us peeps. IMHO - quite a contrast to Pelousy, et al at the Illegal Alien protest.

Was born nine months to the day after my daddy returned from the South Pacific. My Priviledge to escort him to the memorial a year ago this weekend. Sis drove fourteen hours just to greet his bus.

Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee joined the veterans, the bikers, and the truckers in dismantling the barricades at the WWII Memorial.
The veterans carried the barricades all the way to the White House fence where they dumped them in a pile. They were met by park police in riot gear. No reports of arrests, though it wouldn't shock me.
No cable news media coverage. Fox News is a disgrace. There were live streams on the internet courtesy of citizens, with reports of 8,000-10,000 viewers on just one of the live streams. We may never know how many people showed up in D.C. for this event today, but I don't think that's the most important thing here.
Our country's leadership, Palin, Cruz, Lee, ARE there. Those with eyes to see, will see.

I got a little teary-eyed from your post. Please give him (or send if he’s not close by) a hug for me and thank him for his service. I was thinking earlier seeing pictures and videos of the vets at the memorials - I wish I was there - I’d give each and every one a hug (after asking permission) or shake their hand if they preferred. Thank your Mom for her service, too.
My uncle, who was also my Godfather, just passed away a few months ago. He would have been 92 in July and served in the Army during WWII (Pacific). My stepdad was in the Marines in WWII in the Pacific. I’ve had a lot of family members that have served. We’ve been very, very lucky - I think we’ve only had 1 KIA - Great Uncle in WWI (though I don’t know about wars and family serving prior to that).
Those folks have to rejigger their thinking. We need leaders to stand shoulder to shoulder with us when it matters. Like today. This isn't about politics - it's about principles.

Totally agree! Sounds like they’re ticked at everyone in DC - they want to get ALL of the congresscritters and Obummer out. While I agree that many of them should go, we do have some good ones - Gohmert, Cruz, Lee, Sessions (AL), and a few others come immediately to mind.
He's coming to Texas to visit with us over Thanksgiving. I'll make sure to let him know how much his service is appreciated by so many.
And thank you for remembering my Army Mom. They don't get nearly enough acknowledgement for their sacrifices supporting their warrior husbands.
