Now the organizers of the march are decrying the usurpation what was supposed to be a “peaceful and apolitical” demonstration for political gain.
The group posted the following note on their official Facebook page and website:
Supporters, as we have said all along. We are not affiliated with any political party nor did we accept any donations. Which we could have used, but we didn't like what we saw that was coming out of Washington; even being courted to become a political action committee which we turned down. Like we said we believe in transparency. Check out this behind-the-scenes "fiscal statement" of our expenses. This is what is meant by GRASSROOTS. And please don't question our motive for a #Starbucks Macchiato or a box of doughnuts. There are some things you just can't live without. Go #1MVetMarch.
UPDATED: Mon Oct 14, 2013 6:35 PM EST – The political agenda put forth by a local organizer in Washington DC was not in alignment with our message. We feel disheartened that some would seek to hijack the narrative for political gain. The core principle is about all Americans honoring Veterans in a peaceful and apolitical manner. Mr. Cruz, Ms. Palin and some attendees, including political parties may have not been aware of the goals of the marches which took place in over 60+ rallies across the nation. ---
Cruz and Palin also spoke at the rally, aiming criticism at the Obama administration for the closure of the memorials, which followed the government shutdown two weeks ago.
The organizers’ message seems to suggest that the presence of conservative speakers was the decision of a local organizer, not of the group itself, which billed itself as apolitical.

Mediaite? Really? It’s a leftist mouthpiece not worthy of being seen on Free Republic. The jerk that runs it is none other than Dan Abrams, onetime manager of MSLSD, the network of Madcow and Tingles. I think it prudent to pull this trash.
After reading the vets facebook statement, I take it to be talking about Larry Klayman. I furthermore can say that Sarah had been in NJ at the Lonegan rally Saturday and said she may scoot on over to DC Sunday but she did not organize anything. The left would love for it to be about Sarah, Cruz and Lee but they just came in support. Not because they organized a thing.
Unless I’m mistaken, you folks were there, right?

Kelly File just covered that tonight. The photo journalist who serves as the FOX consultant to the trucker/veterans mentioned the elder vets were waiting in wheel chairs and canes in the rain for the event, which was set to begin at 9 AM.
The photo journalist asked the speaker who organized it, why the wait? He was told they were waiting on Sarah Palin, who was delayed for some reason. The photo guy said you can’t make these guys wait, so it was launched immediately.
Some grumbled against the event being highjacked for political purposes, when the intention was to pay respects to the fallen and the veterans, and resented the appearance of politicians and political personalities.
The organization seems to feel they would have made a better point without any politicians there. They wanted to stay completely apolitical.
It became “political” when “someone” closed the Memorials and put up barricades.
Mediate does a good job of posting some things. Like they have a argument with Ben Ferguson on CNN with Don lemon. They posted a rant Glenn beck made at Bob Costas too. That’s why I check it. I know it focuses on sensational stories. It also does have some leftists on the site. I also don’t like everything they do. But the same thing with right scoop and newsbusters. However, I could always search for a second source to the same story. Sometimes other sites will post the same thing like The Blaze, Breitbart or whatever.
I post threads from Mediaite, The Nation, Black Star News, MSNBC, the Guardian, etc. all the time. If we don’t know what the Left is up to and how they think, we have ZERO chance of defeating them.

Presuming the organization REALLY posted such a thing -- and that's a big if considering the source, run by a commie, their characterization of the event being "hijacked" is far off the mark. Governor Sarah Palin, Senator Ted Cruz and the others transcend the label of politician. They are true Patriots dedicated to restoring America to its traditional greatness and values predicated on a foundation of being pro-God, pro-life, pro-gun, pro-military and in opposition to the sodomites, tree-huggers and illegals. Veterans have no finer friends than Palin, Cruz, Lee and yes, Larry Klayman who served with distinction in the DOJ under President Reagan.
They wanted to stay “apolitical” protesting Obama’s Politics.

He reported that some of those senior veterans didn’t even realize anything was different at their memorial, but evidently thought this barricade business was normal America, due to their age and condition. Heartbreak.
That’s true, but...they are very old now and may not even know of Cruz and Palin. Some felt used by both parties probably, IF, it’s really true that it was suppose to be a “veteran only” plan and project.
Cruz would get hammered if he didn’t attend and pay his respects to these great heroes. Palin can go where ever she wants to go. She’s a citizen. Reportedly, some local group invited the names.
I remain very skeptical of the veracity of this whole dustup given the nature of the source.
But to suspend my disbelief just for the sake of argument, if the group is really upset with the likes of Patriots such as Governor Palin and Senator Cruz, I have to wonder just how Conservative the people behind the Million Vet March really are. Not to take anything away from the vast majority of those who have served with honor, remember that individuals committed to America's destruction such as Jimmy Carter, John Kerry, John Conyers and even commie Markos Moulitsas (of the treasonous Kos Kiddie site) were at least nominally "veterans". And there are some who join a service branch not for love of country but just because they can't or won't get a job in the private sector and just want the money and benefits.
On the other hand, people such as our great Senator Ted Cruz and, of course, Rush Limbaugh may not have had the opportunity to serve in the military but their love for America is unquestionable.
Still I think something like this merits a [BARF ALERT] tag since the linked source is obviously reveling in this vile attack on real Patriots who are, without question, pro-America and staunch proponents of a strong military.
I used to call him the HAPLESS Larry Klayman, but I really think Klayman is a DEMOCRAT, he MESSES up the EASIST THINGS!! DON"T give him any money!!!!

Without names and official statements to the press... this is just another lie from the left to divide and conquer. I know several people that were there... and they appreciated ALL of our team helping. satan lies and anyone that is a dim is of satan... no exceptions... none... you cannot be a dim without selling your soul to satan. Abortion demands it.
