Senate leaders reached agreement Wednesday to avert a threatened Treasury default and reopen the government after a partial, 16-day shutdown, according to a Republican senator who also said the House might vote first on the plan to speed its approval.

The New York Stock Exchange soared on the news that the threat of default was easing in, rising nearly 200 points by late morning.

"I understand they've come to an agreement but I'm going to let the leader announce that," Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H........

This wasn’t even a “Compromise” the Dems got EVERYTHING that they wanted..its the same bill as yesterday except no mention of Obamacare, so Obama and his cronies get exempt, which is what they were bitching about yesterday, they love the bill but not enough to be covered by it..the GOP caved

feinstein now dissing lack of a budget resolution for 4 years” “it’s got to stop.”

repeatedly quoting the old adage “there is many a slip twixt the cup and the lip”

[My take is that the senators seem to be quietly complimenting Reid for being open to the Collins bill]

Sen Shaheen (D-NH) addressing senate now

talking about specific small businesses such as Provident Bank which has 12 small business loans on hold (if not cancelled) now which some senate subcommittee that she is on heard recently. Claiming to be sympathetic to small businesses.

Shaheen now mentioning what is apparently a joint ongoing senate-house budget committee meeting.

hoping that both houses will approve the current senate bill being voted on today.

why is the senate not just voting on the bill instead of talking about it???????????

* the committee of 14 is for it

* reid and mcconnell are apparently for it

* cruz will apparently not block it

i am not even hearing specifics, from senator after senator

-> the senators are stalling and filibustering until the end of the day so that the house will have no time to consider or debate the bill

IMHO this is a giant time squeeze play by the R and D senators against the Republican led House

now sen Bernie Sanders (I?-VT) addressing the Senate, dissing the Republicans in the House,

IMHO probably saying what the other senators (R and D) are thinking but not saying... loose cannon socialist a$$hole senator...

wth is someone like Sanders (born in brooklyn) doing representing Vt? This guy is now going off like a classic liberal about the decline of standard of living, does not seem to recognize that liberal tax and spending is the problem, not the solution. when eyes are closed, sounds like just another tax and spend liberal nyc politician...

Sounds like they’re going to punch out the debt limit just under another trillion$ to make this deal. Anything to keep spending down? Why it would be just terrible if the debt ceiling broke 18 trillion$-——so much better to keep it under that. Just sounds great don’t it? And I don’t want to hear sniveling about how easy it is for us to pay the interest. Interest rates on federal debt have essentially been ZERO and that is not going to last much longer. pure dumbassness-—I don’t want to waste any more words.

<.....”I think they will go for single provider, with forced compliance”......>

The Mainline Insurance companies purposely opted out of the exchange.

.... They know this will fall on itself and will be standing by when this beast falls on itself, to swoop any people into their plans. All others will be “rescued” by the Gov. as Provider established by Government to “help” (welfare).....back to square one but we will pay for them under the gov. plans established then....either or we will pay.

That wasn’t voted on...no was the word at that time.

Yeah, so what if anything is changed? If time is of the essence as they claim, why are they all dragging their feet?

Windbag Sanders now taling about the "obscene unfair distribution of wealth" 99% of wealth went to the top 1%... Sanders getting 2 more minutes on top of 10 minutes (gets it of course... argh)

Well we’ve been here before...the vote hasn’t happened and sounds like they’re still debating what the bill is going to be....sheesh...

All these talking in the Senate etc. is just posturing...you cannot believe what they say as it’s done for just that as they play to their bases.

Interesting day..

Keep in mind Obama met with LEw and Biden earlier today in a closed session. Obma has yet to work across party lines and it’s paying off for him thus far in his signiture Obamacare.

Alouette-> Ayotte

yielded(?) her time to Sen. Shaheen (D-NH) who already had her 10 minutes.

Why are these people taking all this time instead of just shutting up and sitting down and passing the bill?

IMHO if these people are not in a hurry, there is no real crisis, and the House should get as much time as it needs to debate whatever details (yet to be revealed?) are in the bill, if they are in no hurry.

As I understand it there are 14 people working this bill...which isn’t on the floor as yet...only that it will be there....which remains to be seen.

Interesting Reid said it would presented around noon...the fact it isn’t makes one wonder what’s actually going on....behind closed doors??????
