Bridge Burning and Bridge Building

House Republicans have signaled they are giving up.

They’ll merge their ideas with Mitch McConnell’s ideas. The result will be a funded government, raised debt ceiling, and nothing done with Obamacare.

Throughout this fight, Harry Reid has outsmarted Mitch McConnell. Repeatedly, Reid used the Senate’s rules to toss aside numerous proposals from the House while McConnell looked on not knowing how to fight back.

Reid knows how to beat McConnell. If Reid fights hard, McConnell backs down and tries to blame others. McConnell’s lieutenants attack Ted Cruz so “the Leader” can deflect from his own legislative impotence. And he continually is one step behind Reid in his knowledge of how to use the Senate’s complicated rules to win a fight.

You will see no defunding of Obamacare because Republicans are giving up.

The best way to get a bad law repealed is to enforce it strictly.

i kept telling people. gonna cave.

kabuki theater.

just waiting for the right moment.

we weren’t going to get anything. we’re not.

the democrats have taken the purse strimg away from the house.

why every single leadership republican wasn’t out everywhere possible asking why the democrats opposed raising the debt limit under Bush, citing it as irresponsible and a burden on our kids and gee all the baby boomers are about to retire, but under a socialist democrat president it’s vital and now we need this debt limit increased to borrow a trillion dollars to pay our bills.

the republicans have no proactive strategy for dealing with obama and the democrats. they are just too afraid to criticize him. they are totally reactive and you don’t have plans and goals when you’re reactive and just playing defense.

plus they’ve purged out great conservatives and can’t stand conservatives because we want them to actually fight for things NOT JUST A LITTLE WHILE AND THEN CAVE, we want them to believe in principles and fight for them and not stop fighting until we win.

it’s time to let the rinos and gop elite implode and have as many conservatives running as possible to pick up the pieces as fast as possible. retake the party.

To better express my utter contempt of Mitch McConnell I donated $25 to Matt Bevin who is challenging him in the upcoming primary election. In a few minutes I’m going to send another $75.

If I could send Mitch McConnell a rabid weasel I would but for now this will have to suffice.

I don’t think I will ever vote for any Republican again. I am that disgusted.

The GOP and Democrats are one party for all real purposes

It is clear the caving and surrendering is central to the Republicans’ (GOP-e) DNA!!

Bawlin’ Boehner should be prepared to receive another 1,000 white flags so he will have plenty of them on hand to surrender to Hairy Reed and Mitch McDonald Duck!

Excellent point. And that should have been the keystone to any deal here. No Obamacare exemptions for anyone, no Obamacare delays for anyone.

Oh, wait. Congress would never agree to that. They want their own Obamacare exemptions.

They didn't surrender - they played their part according to the script. A whole lot of people think there is an actual opposition party.
